Nice to see all the fans opening their wallets again. I myself don't mind paying the $55 for it - looks great. BUT when is the release date for Cbills and MC?
This is a repeat of the Urbie where the release date remains TBD
What is there To Be Determined??? JUST ANNOUNCE A DATE
I have bought every pack since I found this game including the Urbie. You can get away with it once. But this is going too far.
PLAY FOR FREE is a lie and it is being reinforced here. As I said I don't mind paying for the pack, but I do mind that other players cant buy it for CBills later.
REALITY CHECK:
There are 252 active mech variants at the moment and 32 pending delivery. Total of 284 for a game that is still not ready for release on Steam!
We have gone from buying a game that is fully working off the shelf to:
Buying a mech pack and waiting for release (incl $500 Gold mechs - remember those?), to
Buying a mech pack that is not available for Cbills (Urbie), to
Buying a mech pack when another mech pack is not delivered yet, to
Buying a mech pack that is not available for Cbills when other 2 other mech packs are not delivered yet.
And the game is STILL not fully functional because of limited resources at PGI??
Wake up people... This is greed and we are feeding it. TBD REALLY???
I'm sorry if I sound rude - but how long do you think we can still be fans? Announce a date for the rest of the community.
1) They just only confirmed the mech and the delivery date of said mech (december) so injection of the cbills will probably correspond on that date. But you also have to keep in mind they do account injections in waves so the servers dont crash with the load of delivering mechs to accounts. It gives PGI a little leeway in determining the date they want to inject the extras. Account injection takes a lot of server resources.
2) play for free is not a lie, you can pickup and play the game without spending a single dime. They do weekly/monthly/anniversary events that gives free MC, mech bays and cbills. No other gaming company actually goes out of their way to do that on a regular basis. Literally no one else does it. Quite your bitching.
3) The game has always been workable, but really limited in gameplay options. Those new options take time and resources that arent easy to come by.
Yeah, I remember those $500 mechs, and the huge price of the Masakari collection (a collection I bought). But that was back during the time of IGP/PGI partnership, and partnership no longer around because IGP went bankrupt.
The Urbie only exists because fans had been asking for it, not because it would be actually useful to the game. outside of random times, nobody pilots an urbie, and I wouldnt expect themt to release it for cbills. Just like I dont expect them to release hero mechs or mastery packs for cbills either.
And they do phased releases so that it incentivises players to buy the packs, but buying packs/collections/a la carte does not give any advantage to the purchaser other than getting the mechs all at once with mech bays. All the mechs released (except urbie) eventually get released for cbills. So if you want the newer mechs, either buy a pack, or shut the **** up and wait for it. You aren't being punished for not buying the pack. If you think this sucks, go ******* play EVE online, where you have to pay a monthly subscription fee and if your ship gets blown up ITS ******* GONE. If you think its a ******* grind to buy a mech for cbills, go play some EVE without buying plex and tell me MWO sucks.
The game isn't ready for steam release because its not ready for the blind consumer to jump into the game and feel like its a fulfilling experience. Those who are MWO bred who have spent years playing the games already know what to expect, and enjoy the game for what it is. But the random consumer who has no idea what the **** mechwarrior/battletech is; is going to feel cheated and hate the experience because there is no other game like it to relate to. So PGI is making the smart move and waiting until they have the new pilot tutorial, the UI fixed and streamlined, and squared away clan wars 3.0 and give the game another quirk pass to make it easier for new players to get into the game. That **** takes time, and they dont have the money to spend getting dozens of new people to try and bulldoze through the issues (partially because of people like decrying this as a P2W game and they are fleecing its players, when that couldnt be further from the truth).
Yeah, I am a closed beta player, legendary founder and someone who has bought almost every top-tier pack released (I really wished I could have gottent he phoenix pack, my only regret), and players like me had been waiting years for clan wars to actually be a thing (phoenix pack had bonuses to clan warfare loyalty, but there was no clan warfare in the game). Now in the game, we have had 2 full map reworks with a third on the way, we have the second edition of clan wars, and eventual third edition of clan wars happening. We have a tutorial on the cusp of release (a tutorial us players have been bitching about for YEARS), and they have fully committed to making a single player experience (something that would take time to do, and was reliant on the creation of the tutorial). Not to mention PGI wanting to make a 4th game mode, as well as more mechs to be released and still staying strong on the community outreach. This game has gotten so much better since its first release.
Its one thing to whine, but its a whole 'nother thing to scream bold face lies like the horseshit your flinging.
