Then I guess for you, its a good thing they are selling them at a reasonable cost and not in some massive pack along with the Marauder, Warhammer, Rifleman and Archer.

(Psst... hey PGI, make a Gold Marauder for Dimento...)

I did the same thing.

"Shut up and take my m.... whoa whoa whoa ... wait a sec."

That was a deal breaker.

Then I looked at the collector pack. Cool. 30% cbill boost variant ... um....on the version that can't mount JJs.

Yeah, no.

I dunno if I can find the post and am not even going to try, but, I remember my words as being:

"You give me the Marauder, and I'll do the same damn thing I did with the Jager, BUY 'EM ALL, I'll buy every damn one of 'em."

<sigh>

I try to be a man of my word, regardless of the cost.

but i's not your cost but MINE I'm worried about!!!!! :P

Sometimes, your word is not more important than the greater good!

If you knew someone was a terrorist going to kill 1000s, would you let him go, even if you promised him to before you knew he was a terrorist?!?!?! (OK< so the severity of situations MAY be a little different here.... but you would never know it by the PTS butthurt QQ, lol)

Really can you be held accountable for promises made without all the facts? ;)

It looks to me that the special variant 3R(s) that comes with the Collector's Pack is better than the Bounty Hunter.

The 3R(s) comes with 3 Ballistic and 4 Energy hardpoints, vs the BH's 1 Ballistic and 7 Energy hardpoints. While the 3R(s) doesn't have Jump Jumps like the BH, the BH's lower max engine would make it painfully slow.

What's everyone else's view?

Bought the Collector Pack + Hero.

The speed of the Marauder will not be an issue for me. It isn't with any of my other 100+ 'Mechs. At least half of my 'Mechs (most lights too) are below max speed anyway.

Y'all are placing a bit too much emphasis on speed, in my opinion. It isn't the be-all-end-all that you seem to be thinking.

Bounty Hunter gripes:

The smaller engine cap is likely what lets you guys get away with the extra energy hardpoint per arm. 7E/1B is pretty ferocious; the Bounty Hunter's clearly intended as a 'Firepower' variant on Piranha's new D/M/F/I pie chart. If you get it kicked up to a 300 max rating, you'd have to lose some of the firepower.

You willing to toss one or both of the extra energy from your arms to get that higher engine rating?

Ive got a gold Marauder pack called "Star Citizen" pack, $12,350.00. You get every Marauder variant and a handful of cosmetics and paint jobs of your choosing.

BTW, did Starcitizen ever take off? Or did it somehow die!?

It's the IIC that the Bounty Hunter gets with Clan Tech. We're getting the 3015 era one? Still alright - comes stock with 7 energy hardpoints. With inflation it may get 9. We'll see what it gets to offset that slow engine.

@Bishop: I could have used your support with the urbie getting it to a 255.

However I do support the 300 or 325 BH2.

How much faster does THIS really need to be? (The 2 SRMs are tonnage placeholders for 3 x MPL.)

Okay, sure, I'd absolutely strip the AC/20 for more speed and JJ if it had a higher engine cap. I'd probably also drop a ton of AC/20 ammo for another DHS on this version. This was just a rough first cut, but it looks pretty beastly on paper.

From Sarna:

His signature 'Mech between 3014 and the Clan Invasion was aMarauder which was originally Natasha Kerensky's. (Conversely, her signature Warhammer is sometimes said to be the Bounty Hunter's original 'Mech, but there is little hard evidence to support this.)

The Bounty Hunter pilots a custom IS Marauder at this time. He will get his Mad Cat shortly. He has his Griffin kicking around here somewhere as well.....

Is it a deal breaker? Are you cool with it?

For me, once I saw that, it wen't from a "Duh, her's my 15 bucks!!!" to........ "WHOA NELLY!!!!!"
Not being able to run at least the 300 Engine the Marauder is engineered around, for me is a no if ands or buts Deal Breaker. The Mech was designed around a 300 and modiied to a smaller engine, for cripes sake!

Gimme a 300 to 325 engine cap, and you can have my money.

Since we cannot add polls here, like if you agree, please. (I feel like a teenage girl on facebook asking for likes....ewwwww)

I will not be getting it unless it gets the same engine as the other varients.

Doesn't bother me much. I make the most of what I got. Give me an excuse to actually own a couple of those engines anyways. I'm looking forward to the challenge. This is a Marauder, not a Mad Cat. ;)

you can always add the hero later, if they don't upgrade the engine cap, then don't pay, if they do, shell out 15 dollah.

275 is really bad. PGI please raise it to 300.
300 is slow enough compared to the other variants with 360.

It'll hit like a Timber Wolf with 7E/1B, though. Even with diddly Sphere guns, that's a lotta diddly. ~65kph max Tweaked does sting, but it also means your engines are small enough you generally won't feel the pressure to go with an XL. Comfortable fit for assault pilots looking to dip below their normal weight spectrum a li'l bit, methinks.

Hits like a Timber Wolf, lives like a Timber Wolf. Can zombie headlaser for lulz. Doesn't move like a Timber Wolf, but is also not going to get Nerfinated like a Timber Wolf either.

i played around with smurfy for some minutes and even with aSTD275 you can have some decent builds so I bought it. STD will be pretty mandatory i guess if you are that slow.

But slow heavies can work, look at the 4x or IV4 for example. wont be meta, of course but i couldn't care less.
