Not being able to run at least the 300 Engine the Marauder is engineered around, for me is a no if ands or buts Deal Breaker. The Mech was designed around a 300 and modiied to a smaller engine, for cripes sake!

Gimme a 300 to 325 engine cap, and you can have my money.

not interested in the bh varient. last thing i need is another laser vomit bot. but i think i decided to go with the maurauder instead of the urbie on my upcoming $70 binge.

Well, if you think this hero mech is going to be P2W or otherwise OP, it shows a lack of understanding of the game.

What about the SCR, TBR, ACH? You mean those three will all be used at high level play a lot more than the BH is? Well if that is what you were saying, then yes I agree.

Yea, the Vindicator, Catapult, Panther, Urbanmech, Ilya, etc... pilot in me isn't that concerned with running the top tier mechs. Is it cool, fun to pilot, and a bit tricky?...Yea? Cool, I'm in.


P.S. Doesn't mean I'm not occasionally a slave to trends though. Urbies do run various energy and MGs and my Maulers don't have an occupied missile hardpoint on them, but I am still not afraid to try and make a mech work for me when it is known to have "problems".

No, not really.

As dictated by PGI's bandaid that they put in place to control 100 kph laser Hunchbacks and 400XL Awesomes.

The "engine cap" is a fiction created by PGI. It has nothing to do with tabletop BattleTech.

Furthermore, PGI's little bandaid prevents you from putting the original engine (a 300) back into the Bounty Hunter's customized MAD-3R. Yeah, that's how broken their little bandaid is when applied to a Hero Mech. Thankfully they've increased the cap so that you can at least put the original engine back into the Mech.

I'm pretty sure we do know, and the answer is no.

Some of them will be fine, or even good, but I doubt any of them will be meta.

Heh the sound of the lbx10 is why I'll run 2xlbx10 on my 5m. It's bad, but I don't care.

I once came up with a Cicada 3C build that might work with an LB10-X, it's 1 LB10-X 1 ER PPC and 3 machine guns with a 225 XL engine. The idea is to get behind something at point blank range and then fire everything you've got, it should kill a heavy in about 3 seconds and an assault in 5 if you can stay behind the target. It's probably not as good as the sniper build I actually do run on it though.

I am wondering if I can get a tax deduction if I classify my mechs as a "collection". Most likely not as they cannot be traded.

Could have bought a Tesla battery with the money spent on this game. Worth every penny so far.
