Just going to stop the argument right here guys... I'm not interested in dual video-cards for the moment anyway. As DV McKenna pointed out, a single card will do plenty if I get the 670, based on benchmarks I've checked. It's currently rated second (680 is first) in the high-end card benchmarks. If MWO will have any trouble running at max settings@1680x1050 on that, then PGI failed!

My max native monitor resolution is 1680x1050 right now (22" widescreen monitor) and I'm not planning on changing it any time soon, it's brand new and it's plenty enough for me.

but some day you will look forward to upgrade though?

the Asus Sabertooth Z77 only supports 1 x16 slot

750W Power Supply for just 1 Graphic card? Are u planning for SLI in the future? otherwise its totally wasted, 550W would be totally fine. Explanation is simple, with just 1 CPU and 1 GPU with Fan, ssd, hdd your system wouldnt need more than 400W. Especially every new GC generation have less power consumption. This means, your new Power Supply will work with just 50-60% power usage.

And yes, with this System you dont have any problems to run MWO on the highest settings.

Edit: http://www.videocard...h_end_gpus.html this list is a totally bullshit ranking, and dont represent the fps for games.

Humm nope it doesn't... it's got 3 x16 in total...

http://ca.asus.com/e...#specifications

2 x PCIe 3.0/2.0 x16 (x16 or dual x8)
1 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (x4 mode, black)
3 x PCIe 2.0 x1

The Overview does showcase its SLI and CrossFire capabilities...

I might eventually yes... but not right now. I could downgrade for a little saving I guess... 550 seems a bit low though?

About the benchmark, which one do you recommend I check then?

its 2 x PCIE 3.0/2.0 1 x16(1 card) or x8 x8(means SLI/CFX)

1 x 2.0 x16 (will run at x4 if you try to SLI/CFX)
you can crossfire reguardless but the video cards will go from x16 per to x8 so your cutting them in half. but you might not need the fan so you can fit all the Ram sticks in fine.

Not sure what your getting at, his Xfire/SLI on that board in the 3.0 Slots of which there are 2 will run at 8x and no current GPU will have an issue running at 8x as nothing saturates an 8x slot let alone 16x as has been covered in another thread burried somewhere.

So no he will not notice a performance hit with an 8x SLI/Xfire on a PCIE 3.0 board.

you never do that to those type of video cards you want both at x16 2 x16 = x32 while with x8 x8 your only getting x16 your bottlenecking it.

No your really not, the bandwidth on a PCIE 3.0 lane is massive, your not bottlenecking any card at 8x SLI/Xfire

Going back some time but this is one sites conclusion and for noting its a conclusion shared by pretty much all of them.
http://www.hardocp.c...16x16_vs_x8x8/1

TL:DR unless gaming on an eye infinity setup at 5760x1200 or higher your not going to notice a massive difference

This one is more recent, notice the 8x and 16x PCIE 3.0 performance on the charts..virtually identical
http://www.anandtech...ocking-and-msaa

An 8x PCIE 3.0 slot ships data at 8G/B per second!!

@Tweaks:

The most Users who dont have much experience in PC building(?) think mostly: More is better, and this is wrong!

Like i said 550W and your system will run smoothly over years, even a 450W Supply would be enough to run this system.
Same goes with 16 Gb ram, right now no game need more than 4 GB. And the 8GB MWO recommendation are mostly for APU Chips, which dont have graphic memory. Well maybe MWO is the first game, which really need 8GB Ram to work on the highest settings?! But seriously i really doupt that. That means 8 Gb ram would be fine.

I mean u could save some dollars, but it seems u dont care. Even when u only play with 1680x1050 :/

Okay for the power supply, but read my OP about the RAM... I don't need that much for gaming, I need it to run multiple virtual machines on my PC with VMWare Workstation... I work with my PC as well as play games...

3 monitors... With a new condo, a kid (possibly another soon after) and a wedding all within the next 3 months, I wish... That's why I'm buying a new PC now while I can still afford it...

but you said you wanted a computer to last you 4+ years so some where down the road you'll upgrade monitors.

Not going to continue to debate, i suggest you read the anandtech article fully.

Maybe he will maybe he wont, he will still be perfectly fine at 8x crossfire and SLI.

Not necessarily. I might replace the one I have, but not buy 2 more to have 3... I don't need 3 monitors, one is enough, and the one I have is still new.

yes i see that now about the 7970 but he wants a 670....

he wants to do computing stuff also and 7970 outperforms 670 on that

and also thats at 1680x1050.... try it at 1920x1080

tweak what video card do you have now at the moment?

A 7970 is faster in both computing and gaming vs a Geforce GTX 670 for only*$50 more, and is around 300-400% faster in compute. It's also better for high resolutions.

Figured I would point that out.
