Usually it's the overeager light and medium pilots that do this and the rest are 'forced' to follow because of blobdeathball mentality.

And why I sometimes say "Don't follow the light" (me). While I go and inflict some extreme damage on some fattie and return in time to form up with the rest of the team. Not always "overeager", sometimes smart play.

Some team advice, follow the team fatties, not the team lights.

Guy asked me this on Crimson straight and I had no real answer for it. Why DOES one team run through the saddle and one team run through the city?

Why DO we NASCAR?

Because if team A moved towards the saddle and team B engaged team A AT THE SADDLE it would be a fight and there would be little to no opertunity to cower in cover for 75% of the match,

And puggies do love their cover.

In group play this is a frequently used strategy. My merc corp is blessed with a few expert light pilots that are more than capable of ranging out ahead and assassinating key targets.Even if the lights get pinned down and destroyed we have ussually traded a light or two for a Direwolf or two and/or some ECM.Normally though we execute two or three assaults by minute four and return to the group for some point defence against the enemy lights.

Using terrain to ur advantage is not cowering, refusing to walk into a firing line with one or two other mechs is not cowering, more like smart play.

Running away at the first sight of trouble and leaving your assaults to get slaughtered - is cowering.

Because Nascar is more compatible with the steering wheels that many players already use.
