Marauder II a Wolf's Dragoons Exclusive Mech... Unless your unit name is Barber's Marauders II. The you are only Marauders. Marauder IIs & Marauder IICs.
Well, at least Sarna says it was eventually sold outside of the Wolf Dragoons after the 4th Succession Wars.
"Blackwell Heavy Industries produced the design exclusively for Wolf's Dragoons until the end of the Fourth Succession War, when Jaime Wolf allowed them to sell to others." - Sarna.net
It doesn't say who the "others" were, but I'd imagine the mech would get around.
I just think it's funny that...
A: you can just easily convert a 75ton chassis to a 100 ton chassis when you want to. If it's that easy, why not bump all mechs up a weight class to make them better?
B: A corporation goes through all the work of creating a 100 ton assault out of the Marauder (in reality expensive and no easy task I'm sure), and agrees to sell it it just one customer (a merc unit and not even a house) for years. Talk about a poor business decision. I'm sure Wolf Dragoons bought a whole couple handfuls of a mech and that build was worth the R&D, tooling, and manufacturing costs.
Any who, I love BT, but some of their willingness to just create heavier mechs of fan favorites and throw ridiculous fluff at it is funny. More of that Madcat MKII type shenanigans.
It just makes me shake my head lol.
