MARAUDER II.
100 ton of Aweso... No, can't say it.
100 ton of de.... Not, not that one either since both the Dire Wolf and Atlas got that copyright.

No....
100 Tons of BADASS!

You know you want it too!
Along with the Marauder IIC!

Marauder II, must-have. 'Nuff said.

nah the MAD II pre 3060 is DOA - non of those 4 variants is better armed as the MAD
we have
5 energy weapon - build
4 energy weapon + Ultra 5 including SHS and XL
4 energy weapon + LB10X including SHS and XL
4 energy weapon + Gauss (even BH2 is better armed) with 300STD and 16DHS

the real killers are those that feature Heavy PPCs, Heavy Gauss SnubNoose PPCs, Light PPCs, Rocket Launchers, and RACs

Hardpoint inflation is a thing. Take a look at the Banshee.

I love RAC's so much. The RAC5, if it's on song, is an incredible weapon in TT. I imagine they would be freakishly overpowered in MWO.

I wonder how many advanced weapons (if any) have an implementation plan floating around in Paul and Russ' heads.

I don't care about the hardpoint. But I do care about the weight and the armor. And the look too.
If not the. I would have never supported the U.R.B.I.E. project

Atlas are supposed to be rare. Just like an Assault mech in short.
Yet in this universe, everybody and there mother can have one.
Heck we should only have one mech, no more.

I have 87 mech in my mechbay. Even a Prince wouldn't have so much mech. :P

Atlases are built in three different factories at least for the great Houses. The Marauder II is built buy a small (comparatively) Merc Command.

As for the One Mech Only thing. I have played a Atlas for the majority of my time here and only now have more than that due to CW requirements.

:P Back Atcha!

Unfortunately with weapon balance we have in MWO and the desire of many people to keep 3025 (tier one) weapons balanced with newer (tier 2) weapons, the later tier 2 weapons will be heavily nerfed. MWO painted themselves into a very small corner when they decided that all mechs and weapons MUST be balanced with 3025 mechs.

How many people complain that something "must" be done about single heat sinks? Why? they were completely replaced by double heat sinks. They are supposed to be inferior. Just like tier 1 weapons were inferior to tier 2 and tier 3 weapons. And how many people complain about time to kill? The latter tier 2 weapons are supposed to be more deadly, they are suppose to reduce TTK. Players need to understand that 3050 was the start of an arms race in BT. Weapons were getting significantly better at killing mechs. To enjoy these weapons, TTK needs to start going down noticeably, or all we'll end up with is weapons that sound and look different, but act no better....

Damn you Steiner Scum! :P
Dire Wolves are normally in short numbers, yet here, even Spheroïd barbarians can have it! :P

But Marauder II should be added, even if they are just bigger and slower version with more armor than the current marauder.

I really hope they don't release any more 2c mechs, I don't like the factions having similar looking mechs. They should be as different as possible IMO. The upcoming 2c package is going to water down the difference between the factions which I find really boring.

There is difference between IS variant and IIC variant. Heck, some of them are completly different after the "clan tech modification".

Beside, I am speaking above everything else about the MARAUDER II. The IIC is a different one (I still want it)

Clan IICs with the current mech lab are always an problem - and i really wished they never had open this box.
Although i admit the Origins IICs are well choosen.

For example the Stone Rhino 4 - build 2846
4 MGs, 2 UAC 10, 4 ERMLAS, 4 LRM 10 - you can build almost anything you want from this build - but with dismountable jjs, interchangeable reactor, ES and FF capability - 6 Ultra AC 10 would be possible, or 100 LRM for the Kraken

the light weight of clan tech would make incredible powerful builds

Well, at least Sarna says it was eventually sold outside of the Wolf Dragoons after the 4th Succession Wars.

"Blackwell Heavy Industries produced the design exclusively for Wolf's Dragoons until the end of the Fourth Succession War, when Jaime Wolf allowed them to sell to others." - Sarna.net

It doesn't say who the "others" were, but I'd imagine the mech would get around.

I just think it's funny that...

A: you can just easily convert a 75ton chassis to a 100 ton chassis when you want to. If it's that easy, why not bump all mechs up a weight class to make them better?

B: A corporation goes through all the work of creating a 100 ton assault out of the Marauder (in reality expensive and no easy task I'm sure), and agrees to sell it it just one customer (a merc unit and not even a house) for years. Talk about a poor business decision. I'm sure Wolf Dragoons bought a whole couple handfuls of a mech and that build was worth the R&D, tooling, and manufacturing costs.

Any who, I love BT, but some of their willingness to just create heavier mechs of fan favorites and throw ridiculous fluff at it is funny. More of that Madcat MKII type shenanigans.

It just makes me shake my head lol.
