I don't even want to imagine the amount of tears around here when/if PGI would state that they can't release mechs with big CT weapons due to a lack of available slots in said CT.
I mean, it was what it was with the Urbie and its STD60...

BTW, that would mean that the ejection system of the MAD will be sideways like the CPLT, right? (left, IIRC)

That eject sounds like a good way to become a splatter on the nearest wall. :)

Looking at both, this version and Alex's, I'm seeing less difference than I expected.
Alex's is smoother, has the AC offset, has those little shoulder guards, and the shaping of the weapon pods is different.
But look at the overall shape of the torso, accounting for viewing angle, along with cockpit size and placement.

As for the chunkier, flat-planed look, remember that the oldest MADs, the 1R and 2R used ferro. And ferro is royal pain to shape into anything but flat plates. All the variants we're getting have standard armor.

I like Alex's much better. This thing you could see peeking over a hill, then a minute later you would see the CT.

PGIs version looks like a Smaller Crab body with long legs, this actually looks like a Marauder no mistake, wonder what HG will think?
At least this one is concept art and theres no problem Drawing them, putting into a game and using/selling is a different thing.

I think I like mwo version better. The cgl one is closer to the original but I kinda like the idea of paying tribute to the original but making it our own.

I do prefer the gun to be on the side where it's actually installed.

kind of a toss up for me, but I really like the cockpit on the CGI MAD, Alex likes to put them big bubble or oversized cockpits on most of his designs...

That CGL Marauder has a Turret instead of a high mounted Gun - MWO can not handle turrets on Mechs.
I am happy iwth the MWO Marauder - the CGL one does have a big "Shot Me" sign above its head.

I have to say it looks way better than the MWO version.

Not that the MWO mad looks bad, but not as good as this one.

I like both honestly, but shimmering Swords MAD is still tops for me.

Ladies and Gentlemen! Trothkin!

As you have noticed, guys from PGI have offered their re-imagined Marauder for sale. It's very nice, sure. Alexander Iglesias did a good job, as usual.
But the right torso gun or slanted PPC pods were not everybody's cup of tea.

However, CGL has just released "their" brand new re-imagined Marauder. Similar and yet not identical, drawn by Anthony Scroggins, another great BattleTech painter.

So check "this" Marauder! Dorsal Gun! Massive straight-edged arms!

The Marauder used by the aces of the BattleTech Universe has just arrived!

Dorsal gun should be offset, and wish Shim would buff those weapon pods some. Oddhow massive that 8 ton Autocannon is, but how similar 8 ton weapon pods (7 for the PPC, 1 for the Medium Laser) in th eforearms are so darn tiny.

Still, like the overall design a lot, and am pretty happy to see Shim finally gave his Marauder concepts a bit of a diet.

I wish the top mounted weapon was more centrally located. One would think they could design a centrally mounted top gun that varies enough from the original to satisfy all parties involved.

Otherwise, I think PGI's Marauder looks good.

If the final version of the version(s) with the AC5 in fact arrive with THAT large of a gun, I hope it is given the quirks that normally come with an oversized barrel/mechanism: more velocity and better heat management, and I'm not talking about a token 5%-10%, I'm talking about 25% improvement for both. Heck, add in a 25% cool down quirk too.

Remember, not all AC's are created equal. Different factions had different factories. The "AC5" is simply a macro classification of a category of an auto firing cannon. The AC5 can be represented by different calibers, different propellants, different AP warheads, etc. So, I don't think it is all that far off to have AC5 that rivals the UAC5 in cool down (rate of fire), or an AC2 in heat and velocity.

Am I the only one who prefers the RT mounting of the ballistic? Looks more in-line with Battletech than having the centerline gun bisecting your ride.....

There are a lot of things on this model I LOVE, but I prefer Alex's ballistic mount.

Woooah there bro pg-13 :D

Maybe make it replace that RH intake thingy and have the gimbal set at a 45 degree angle..... Hard to do without actually redrawing it.
