Getting penalty for disconnect after death was "not a good move" too.

been at this 6 hours straight. seen Canyon once and my team got stomped yet I managed 285... come on... what is the deal, where is CANYON!?! Is this and experiment where the MM can un-select the map you want telepathically???

Can we rename this to the DISCO Challenge?

I actually didn't mind where the bar was set originally - its a challenge and I welcome it (maybe have a lower tier with 1 day PT or just cbills/consumables. Looking out for the newer players here).

The root cause of all the disconnects, kamikaze runs, and player frustration was players chasing RANDOM maps. For the remaining players who haven't disco'd or suicided, ran around the map like headless chickens scrambling for kills. You HAD to support them, since it would be useless to be the only one left alive at 0-6 or worse.

These behaviors got worse and worse as people became increasingly desperate chasing RNG beyond their control as the weekend runs out.

All the matches were over so quickly, that even if you had 2 kills (thats half a lance dead!) you would be hard pressed to have more than 400 damage. Despite my active Premium Time, Cbill earnings were rubbish.

I probably averaged 2 hours a day over 4 days, and got Caustic Valley once. Then we got stomped leaving me at 179 Match Score. No Tier 1 for me.

Bad Event. Please PGI, no more random Maps as a requirement. Once my 30 days active PT expires in 7 days, I'm gonna take a break from this.

I hope the rumblings I am hearing in game are true, and you are taking the rewards away from those who were disconnecting at the beginning of matches. It really made the last day worthless and not very fun, if it was not for the same worthless pilots who dropped at the beginning of the match, it was the people that legged those same worthless pilots when they found the map they needed. Though that was very funny and well deserved, it made for some very one sided matches.

I also hope those offenders get a temp ban for their craptastic behavior.

OK, so my Oppinion for this event:

The whole event was well thought out - with disconnect in Mind and a fair punishment for disco´d players.
Unfortunately you had to remove the strike rule, which was a big frustrating thing because you see discoed players all the time.
A few suggestions from my point of view:

1.)
I think the disco strike counter really should have been activated wiith the rule "everybody has to stay until the end of the match even in spectator mod" maximum strike count: 5 or something, which covers the disconnect by Game error disconnections.
So nobody would have made suicide runs and no self destruction with out of bounds to leave the match without helping the team. (sure some whiners would cry about this, but it would have been a better solution than the frustration because of selfish discoed or suicide players)

2.)
Obviously the Maps where choosen in a way that it seems they are not randomly with equal chances.
In my case I dropped ~12 hours on saturday and mostly got caustic and Crimson (switched between these two most of the times). followed by canyon network.
I did not see the other maps often and on HPG I only dropped 4 times. :(
On Monday evening I did 6 drops to get my last 400+ score at HPG - and guess what - 4 times of my 6 drops were on HPG... so i managed to get the 400+ score and was very happy.
Maybe it is possible to implement some logic on the client side to give maps which where not choosen for some drops a higher priority to alter the complete randomness for more map diversity.
(SImple algorythm like: no HPG for the last x drops -> HPG gets a higher chance instead of 1/MapCount chance)

3.)
Lowering the Tier minimum points was a not so good idea.
That is frustrating for the players who did their best to reach the 400 points and managed to get them in each Map.
A better solution would have been to introduce a new 200 Points reward to statisfy the newer players which cant get the higher scores.
The second best solution would have been to introduce 400 Points special rewards for the ones who reached the 400 points already after lowering the minimum points.
For now its frustrating to see that the hard fight for the higher match scores was completely unnecessary.

All in all: thank you for creating such events - despite all the "not so optimal" choices I still have fun fighting in events and get a reward for that. I really appreciate that you have MC rewards too.

Max discos in a match I had was 6 (though 1 probably was a genuine crash cause he reconnected)

I am going to guess the answer to my question is no, but has PGI said anything about rewarding player who havent been able to get certain maps.
I have spent all weekend in MWO queue's and i haven't seen canyons once. All the over maps i am at 400+ but that one is still 0.

In the beginning of this event majority (if not all) were dead when disconnected. People started to disconnect being alive since this rule was removed.

What this even boils down to for me personally is that.. CAN YOU FIX THE DAMN MM so we don't have to play the same DAMN map every time. Even before this event there were days in CW where you would only get to play 1-2 of the same maps during 5 hours of CW.

This kind of repetition with the map pool does not help the game in any way!

People should also not be penalized for wanting to play a certain type of builds.. (brawl, sniper...)

I hope they extend the event.

I have played MWO for cumulatively more than 32 hours since Friday. I only had 5 matches on HPG and failed on every attempt to even get 200. And the only time I've been able to drop on Vitric it's been ghost drops.

Having tried so hard for so long, I'd really like to be able to finish it.

I know this suggestion wont be popular with those who already completed the Challenge. But I hope they will imagine what it would be like if the RNG had just kept serving up the wrong maps for three full days, and take some pity on those of us not as fortunate.

Thx for changing the Rules for the maps right befor the Primetime starts in North America, sry thi game is so NA centric....

the same with th ComStar Intercepts for Steiner which mostly NA players could achieve because the planet could not be attacked and after it was won it wasn't in the circle.

I've enjoyed the PuG Event, just wish I had enough time to tackle the CW.
Surprised myself at getting 400+ across the board - well almost.
Happy the cap was reduced to reward more players.

My only disappointment is that for 6hrs+ last night 3 of us solo dropped looking for that last elusive map and singularly failed to get one drop to attempt any score. For each it was a different map, in my case HPG.
The irony of players unable to get a drop on Forest when I saw it every other drop was not lost.

To consign the event as a disappointment because the map rotation is being fickle is doing it a disservice. The matches have often been close and it's always a joy to come across drops where players are keen to reach out and take their points score with both metal fists rather than plink-plinking over the shoulders of teammates from implausible ranges.
Ultimately I will feel sadness if many are defeated by the rotation rather than by mech-smash-rain-boom.

Maybe I can squeeze one last drop in after work before the end?
