However we have decided not to extend the event due to players disconnecting from matches.
This is the equivalent of a doctor "fixing" his patent with a broken leg by giving them morphine for the pain, but not setting the broken bone, and applying a cast. The match scores may have been painful, but having maps on an RNG was the real problem.

Ok, well then here is some feedback, and it's even going to be constructive feedback, and not the "U SUX PGI!!!1!!1!" kind.
If you want to hold an event like this in the future either give the players the ability to choose the maps they play,
OR
set up a flagging system on the maps so that once a map has been played it's pulled from that players random pool until the flag is cleared, which would happen once a predetermined amount of time had passed, or all maps had been flagged, in which case all flags would auto clear.
Both of these methods would curb the "I only had map X come up 3 times all weekend" issue, as you would be guaranteed to get every map once every 9 drops (or however many maps you have in the event rotation).
In fact you may want to use both methods; map selection (via vote) for CW, and flagged map rotation for public que.

"You can only qualify for one instance of each Prize Pack."
Specifically on the Community Warfare tiers, for those of us who got Tier 2, does that mean we WON'T be receiving the paint schemes as offered in only the Tier 1 prize category? So...it's effectively a choice between paint or cockpit items? :/
Really hope that isn't the case for those who managed to grind through this insanity...

Per the challenge announcement, rewards will be injected into accounts after the event has concluded. That means Tuesday. But yes, it's active Premium Time instead of banked, so it will begin immediately. If you currently have PT active, it will add to the remaining PT balance.
So, they responded by nerfing the challenge requirements? Interesting. Doesn't feel quite as challenging if my sorry performances qualify for both tiers of the public queue reward, but I ain't complainin'!
I saw something today that warmed my cold little heart. Pre-drop, HPG Manifold. One of the teammates mentioned not needing this map. Me neither, I typed, but I won't D-BAG y'all. HE agreed, and we both stuck out the map in hope of helping out whoever else needed it for the challenge.
There are some good team-oriented, community-minded players out there. Some of us DO give a hoot about the complete strangers we compete with (or against).
Good luck to all of you who still need one or more maps to complete the challenge. Lucky me, I got my huckleberry on my third drop tonight, and called it a night immediately after.

No. "EACH" prize pack, you say? Say, aren't Tier 1 and Tier 2 prize packs DIFFERENT, meaning one instance of Tier 1 and one instance of Tier 2? (Yup. That's EXACTLY what that means.)

While I thoroughly enjoy this game, as well as all the events thus far (this one aside), I can't say I enjoy chasing the unicorn that is Canyon Network. I've gotten to drop on it maybe twice, and both times found myself getting steamrolled. I appreciate the challenge of this tournament event, but I really don't have the time to play matches for days on end until I land the one map I need.
Not sure why the score prerequisite was lowered, when that's clearly not the issue with this. Anyway, just hoping the next event follows a more traditional formula.

Thanks for the event, but it was an ultra grind for me and I'm assuming it was that way for other players as well. More time would be nice for both CW and solo queue for this event, because it really takes time to drop and complete matches.

Well there were always 1 or 2 on each side, so all in all the matches seemed still fair to me.
Even in normal matches without any event there are pretty often at least 1 disc on one side...
And for all the casual players:
I kept the sunday for trying to achieve the old required Matchscore (300) to reach at least Tier1 in Public Matches. But it was almost impossible. 300 is high. Even when you win and you've played well (by that i mean doing around 400-500 dmg with an assault mech and at least 1 Kill) it usually was not enough.
So after noticing that, i decided that i dont care for the event anymore and that it is maybe just for the pros of MWO and not for the casual gamers like me.
But then yesterday evening i noticed that they lowered the required Matchscore down to 200 for Tier1. So at 21.30 (i am german) in the evening i started playing again, and i tell you:
I had to disconnect! I had just 3 Maps left (the highest Matchscores of the matches from Sunday counted), and it took me till midnight till i finally had played all maps and reached a matchscore of 200. And it was possible only, because i disconnected probably around 6-7 times. I am not proud of what i have done, and if PGI wants to punish me for that. I am ok. I am sorry to all my teammates.
But without disconnecting i would have had for another 2 hours. I am a father of a 2 year old daugther, i have a wife and a job. Without disconnecting and not playing at least around 10 (more or less) hours, there would be no chance in reaching this tier1 level! But that is a lot of time for somebody with other responsibilities... So i havent seen any other opportunity.
And btw.: I already spent 60+ € for MWO and also just bought the Marauder Pack. Its not that i am not paying anything.
Sorry to all of you guys!
