So I need Forest Colony. These are the maps I got and their order.
MC-CS-CS-MC-RC-TD-FC-MC-HPG-CN-CN-CN-MC-TD-MC-CS-RC-MC-CS-CV-HPG-HPG-CS-HPG-CN-MC-MC

So out of 27 games I got forest colony once. Fantastic except for the 2 friendly discos at the start.

This should be solo only, cause joining lower team in LFG for farming in lower tier is wrong! gg.

Hi Folkz,

since 1 year playing this game.
Was never so frustrated like now with this event.
I fell like a donkey with a carrot stick in front off his face.

So, basically when your getting towards the end of the event, you have about a 5-10% chance to land on the map you need only to have the rug pulled out from you as anyone who doesn't need that map suicides *cough* bravely charges forward to face the enemy?

and based on the scoring have a reasonable chance to repeat the above several times to get a qualifying score.

It'd be fine if you could choose the maps you play on, like that other event where you had to get a certain score with a particular team size. THAT event worked because you could select the match condition each time. This event doesn't work because you can't choose to play a match that matters each time.

When you are automatically wasting at least 90% of your time in an event, and you know as soon as you see the splash screen that the match is a waste of time even before the outcome is known, that makes for a very frustrating event.

If the stick is smashing said Donkey in the face, than I agree with your analogy.

do we really asume that pgi didn't know what this event will cause?

i only need canyon network as the last map.. in public and vitric forge in cw...
i got canyon today in 6hours of gaming 2 times.. both matches where complete stomps and ofc i failed to score
i played 2 hours cw got 1 time vitric forge and it was a ghost drop.
srsly either u implement a way to choose the map u want to play or you program an algorithm that players have higher chances for the maps they need

i dont mind the difficulty to get the match score.. but 11% to get right map ... come on... this is plain sadism

Does anyone have a canyon network? Shouldn't they have added this right after they made it so you could choose what maps to drop on? Wouldn't that make sense?

That's my point. They should've added that feature then had this event right after.

I dont know, i think the event is pretty cool and the prizes are quite nice too.
The thing i dislike is that the map rotation can very random against your favour and the obvious people cheating in the CW queue. Overall good rewards for good performance.

I gave up on the event. It's impossible to get the maps I need. I have literally played ALL Day and only seen tourmaline twice (fail teams both times) and the other one I needed once. ONCE.

With obligations IRL tomorrow, I'm screwed on this event. RNG is just too ... R, or not R enough, hard to tell some times!

Observations, if I may...

1.) This is a COOL event. Seriously. All three of the guys on my shift at work are Destiny players, and they do nothing but COMPLAIN. I listen to their complaints, and I am SO glad that MW:O is not like that game. They don't get any free giveaways of Premium Time, of MC, of C-Bills, of modules, etc. NOTHING. So yeah. Thanks, PGI, for challenges like this that give us cool stuff for free!

2.) The match scoring system still HEAVILY favors weight. I've seen the numbers of mechs by weight class in queue all day today and all last night. Upwards of 40% at times for assault or heavy, as little as 9% light. Why? Because everyone KNOWS what gets the higher match scores. Dude, I had a winning 3-kill match earlier that didn't meet the threshold for even Tier 1. But yeah, raw damage numbers seem to be a big key to higher match scores. Those are better achieved with heavier mechs that carry more armor and armaments, because the match scoring (and therefore, balancing) system favors damage numbers. Y'all should really look into this.

3.) LRMs are back, if only for the weekend. Again, players know that LRMs, while they may not be the meta weapons of choice, yield potentially high damage. It's a no-risk-all-reward thing. I can't count how many heavy and assault mechs I've seen sitting in the back, waiting for someone else to go spot the enemy, whining about target locks. Again, match scoring favors DMG enough that it's worthwhile for many players to dust off their LRM boats in search of free stuff.

4.) The ECM nerf will be VERY welcome. See 3.) above. You can't Lurm what you can't lock. It really is getting ridiculous nowadays, with all those ECM-capable Clan mechs out there.

5.) The light mech is fading fast. Again, this is me whining a lot about match scoring. I've spent the day proving to myself that I can score just as many kills in a ACH as I can in a SCR, but the match scores are higher in the latter. Why, then, should I bother with the ACH at all? I can do the same thing in a SCR and get more reward for it. For that matter, I ought to just hop in a Dire Whale and wait my 15 minutes for a turn at a match (apparently), and be rewarded with an even greater score for the same contribution.

But yeah. VERY cool contest. I highly doubt light mechs are represented proportionately in the leaderboard. Even mediums are likely a little underrepresented. But I nonetheless applaud PGI for the opportunity to get free stuff, and I intend to take advantage of it!

TL;DR- Cool contest, would be cooler if match scoring wasn't driving the weekend's meta...
