Hardest thing to get used to with banshees is the tight vertical arc this fatty has.

You get stuck on low or high ground vs your target and you're useless in many situations.

the Orions suits me as a fine Heavy!

You know what?
I tell you I had problems with the onion, becuase I was trying to playing them as in classic BT style, so 300ST and such.
I've being wrecked too many times for my tastes.
I thought to "change the table", and trying something hilarious: driving the Onion as it were a medium!

So, with the Onion-K you could even taste a new fresh air:

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...9781d38de94f1cd

Well, 39alpha, 5.45 dps (even more with module), in a super fresh 54% heat eff.

Pleanty of 3-4k and 500-600 dmg matches.

(and this because MWO has nothing to do with BT TT, of course)

Mister D, i noticed that too. Got stuck several times. But so does the Atlas!

Interesting build Stefka.

The funny thing is that i can build Orions just like the Atlas. It shares the same loadout variety. Variety i seek, and so far i have been having a blast in this Orion.

Some folks were already suprised to see me in the Orion kicking butt all over the place. It's a niche mech!

Thanks Naduk!

Interesting, yet cool builds. Going to experiment myself as well. But i am broke after the Banshees. Haha. Gotta grind some cbills to fit them both and buy some more Orions.

An Orion is just a smaller Atlas that has all the same problems: low weapons, easy target, and weapon torsos that fall off when you look at them funny.

The Atlas is already generally tier 3 or 4, and the Orion is no better.

Good luck.

Orion is a mech you really really want to XL, but know better.

I really need to get used to the higher hardpoints though!

Yep, high hardpoints mech means you have infinite armor for free.

I've just brought that Banshee I posted before in CW.
It was like a hot knife in the clam butter:

She was the first mech and resisted 19.52 minutes, 11k, 1983dmg.

Go for it, Sarlic.

Perhaps it has the same problems but i am having a blast so far. Probaly because it shares the same problems. Hahaha!

But honestly; i really like it. But the Atlas will always be my number 1 though. But i just think i found the sweet heavy spot for me. Which is considered as Assault (Atlas only) player; not bad!

DON'T BUY THE ORIONS FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. Terrible mechs really.

Awesome or Victor or Banshee for assault

Cataphract or Catapult for heavy

Griffin or Trebuchet or Centurion for medium

Firestarter or Spider or Raven for light

You can thank me later.

I often forget the Kintaro exists.

That could be a challenge, especially with the Terribad SRMs.

Kintaros are quite the challenge and also just not fun IMO...so much so i mastered one and then sold every single one i had even the mastered one. Needed the mechbay...

We need a Onion Run event. We need a list of the worst variants/chassis, we have a tournament based on running only terribad chassis.

Bonus points for running terribad gear, like lbx and flamers.

I'm serious. I would help chip in prizes. Work on a point system; match score with bonus % for terribad loadouts, bottom tier mechs only.

Here's a update for those who're wondering.

Orion, a another 'obsoleted' hard chassis to pilot is something i really like. It shares the same problems as the Atlas. Low slung hardpoints. Atlas hitboxes, Atlas (less) firewpower, big target and a lack of armor.

But i really like this chassis. The plusses i have compared to the Atlas is the mobility, speed and the faster torso twist.
I am doing fairly decent with it!

I am having poor and terrible matches, but i do also have great matches were i outscore whole teams in a obsoleted Orion! My KDR is negative on those mechs, but the damage output is roughly the same. It feels just like the Atlas, a smaller teamplayer, a smaller damage force multiplier.

I make barely kills with it, but i do contribute pretty reasonable damage with it. The Atlas shares the same profile; it does also damage but i make more kills because of the higher armor and more hardpoints.

I was doing basic'd Orion much better then the Banshees. Mainly because my brain kept farting about the ballistic swap and the slugglish handling. Re: my positioning was not very good.

That's the difference i want to point out.

Average i do 300-400 damage. I dont think that's bad for a Orion!
When i do good more then average 400-600. Which is pretty awesome for a Orion!
When i suck, i average 150-300 damage. Hm' kay. Can do better.

Not sure what's the standard/norm for a Heavy is. But consider the EBJ/Timby etc are much much better on all surface compared to the Orion i personally think i am not doing bad at all.

The Orion-V with the two ballistic points is my top peformer.

Rest speak for itself:

More then average:(first two picture solo q, rest group)

My highest damage so far in the Orion (group que):

TLDR: Holy Mackarel!. Sweet Heavy mech! I just happen to have a bad taste in mechs! But this is a true Mini-Atlas. :)

I really like this mech. It's certainly not a mech going for the kill, but it's just like certain Atlas variant a damage dealer.

Thanks for reading and hope to see you soon in-game. Side by side!
