This might seem obvious, but the voice actor who voiced Duncan Fisher - George Ledoux - is pretty awesome. Recently he did all kinds of audio for the Living Legends Solaris arena, and it was pretty awesome stuff. That said, if Solaris is included in this game - perhaps he'd be interested in reprising his role once again.

Before anyone points to the timeline, one of the things Duncan often does in MW4: Mercs and MWLL is talk about the old days quite a bit; it's obvious he's been around the block at the Solaris Arena, so I don't think him portraying the earlier, newer Duncan would be a problem. The guy is just plain awesome and really makes the Arena and it'd be cool to see him get more work out of it.

So, that's pretty much my suggestion: Consider seeing if he's interested in reprising the role once more, to add an announcement spin to arena style battles.

Only problem iirc around this time frame, 3049, Duncan would still be in the arena, not announcing in it.

If you finish that train of thought you might rend the universe apart...

Yeah, incorporating Duncan Fischer into the game somehow, even if its just a shout-out, would be cool

Duncan Fisher is so epic he doesn't have to adhere to the laws of time.
It would be really nice to see a camio appearance of him in this game like 00dlez said.

hmm I see Mechwarrior Online insider jokes here...

"If Duncan Fisher falls into the ocean he won't get wet, the ocean becomes Duncan Fisher"

You're thinking of Duncan Fisher Jr. I'm pretty sure Duncan Fisher Sr. was an announcer in 3049. They both sound EXACTLY alike, and were medium 'mech pilots.

It's easy to confuse the two, it happens all the time.

Cheers.

Duncan Fisher actually died back during the 2nd Succession War. Death has just been too amused by his witty commentary to tell him yet.

Long Live Duncan Fisher!

Remember? How can we forget? Duncan Fisher is as Mechwarrior as Atlas' , Alpha-Strikes, and Apple Pie , Autocannons.

Let's hope the Solaris VII games become a reality sometime in the future.

Cheers.

*blinks* Is that who I think it is??? ^_^

I gotta agree with the OP regardless. Having a solid announcer in MW4:M was/is one of the main reasons I even bother with Solaris VII. That and the turning mechs into junk metal. Most of the time, I actually wanted more lines, more announcer dialogue, and witty remarks. (It'd be nice if Solaris were brought back, if the game could recognize when Fisher is cut-off to report a kill, and then have him pick-up where he left-off.)

I'd pay for Solaris VII and Duncan Fisher.

yeah. if solaris VII makes it in (and it's basically guarenteed to eventually, considering how useful, awesome, and distinctive it is) duncan fisher must return tbh. both are basically required.

I think PGI would be silly to not include Solaris VII at some point in the near future.

I'm not quite sure this really happened, but back in the day Duncan Fisher (or you know, the actor, or you know, someone pretending to be him) joined our team speak server (it was the 95th rifles) and read out a bunch of quotes (Is that a heavy gauss in your pocket or are you pleased to see me?). It was when we played in MWL and it was a day with a bunch of organised events going on. Like I said, I'm not sure if it was really him, I just have this memory of laughing at these wise cracks over team speak.

Anyway, get it done, everyone loves Duncan Fisher ^_^

Sounds like a sound board, but it would be awesome if it was Duncan.

I honestly couldn't tell you warner___ as I used to do a whole lot of jumping in and out of MWL stuff back then. But it was a lot of fun even if I didn't know what the hell I was talking about most of the time. :)
Then again, it certainly could've been a soundboard. Hell, someone even compiled a bunch of DF quotes on an internet quote site.

Best. Post. Ever.

My only regret is that I can only LIKE it once.

I'm tempted to steal it for my signature, if you wouldn't mind?

Cheers.

Mr. Ledoux Sir! (Assuming it is the genuine article.) Good to see you around the boards.

There have actually been quite a few threads referring to your portrayal of Duncan Fisher in MW4 Mercs and I'm not ashamed to say I played the Solaris Matches backwards and forwards in every possible combination(Including three full seasons of exhibition matches) to be certain I'd heard every good line you managed to "Kapow" the fans with.

Be aware "just in case you've been living under a rock" there is a definite conspiracy to get Piranha Games knocking on your door to get you involved in Mechwarrior Online. We're hoping they will throw work but not Harsh Language at the Showman, since weapons fire doesn't seem to do anything to him" except rachet up the play by play.

In the meantime we'll all be looking to catch the afterhours show, so be assured we'll "Stay tuned, Solaris Fans."

And thanks for a lot of fun memories as well.

Cheers.
