The event still shows how bad the scoring system is though. I've seen it as an old tech player and plenty of people experience it now too. Essentially, you have to go meta builds and mechs to hope to have decent scores, which is not what MWO is supposed to be about.

When I first saw the challenge I was excited, figuring it would get others excited to play but what I have seen today makes me think this was an awful idea. Players dropping missions because they do not "need" a map. Players not worrying about the match win, just their points.

I mean we have always had players that would push through to get their kill but never at this level. I am seeing more friendly fire damage being done than ever before and the number of people that just shove other mechs out of the way so they can force their way in instead of seeking their own firing positions is insane.

This has been some of the most rude and obnoxious community play I have ever seen.

lol... it doesn't take much to bring out the worst in this community, sadly. Well, in fairness..... most of the community is OK, but there is a very toxic element that is far more vocal than their numbers would suggest.

But every tournament the wannabe tryhards tend to be out in force (the real ones are out too, but it's the wannabes that usually game the system for all it's worth)

Just quit this broken event, and I already feel better.

But still some lingering resentment towards PGI for a frustrating Saturday in MWO.

Since when has personal responsibility taken a hike? As I said in another thread now taken to the birds:

"But officer, the guvmint let me get a gun. Therefore it was not my fault I shot that guy dead!".

That's a dumb example. A more relevant example would be "But officer, you PAID me to shoot that guy. Why are you still arresting me for it?"

PGI is providing incentives for dumb play. Admittedly, this is nothing new. But don't blame people for wanting the free stuff.

Honestly, I've seen a lot more good, close matches than normal and a lot of joking about map roulette issues. It was a fun challenge for me (done now)

That's a cop out. Incentives or not, pilots are responsible for the choices they make.

I do blame the Community for friendly firing, following around like derps when tools are available (quality of those tools must go up though), carrying cheap loadouts. (Who cares about balance, need kills) and selfish play. All things that can be avoided..

The amount of stupid, nascar and more during the one day i have played once again opened my eyes why i avoided these events in the first place. Rediculous amount of unit tied players who play at the level stupid trying to do anything for that kill. They should be ashamed.

Bad time to basic mechs, but another good reason why to avoid this like the plaque.

Not to mention i find this Community is terrible since the last couple of years. More toxic, endless complaints / proposals and more.

Sometimes i love itt, the other times i hate it.

Rather go group play then wasting my time.

Did not even try to complete it. I have my personal challenge going on so I played as usual. Granted, the derp made it harder.

It just happend in a game:

xxx: "Oh, it's allright I already have 400 match score on this map"
xxx runs straight into the enemy
xxx has been killed by yyy

Is this how such an event should turn out PGI????

I'm not bothered with this event, brings the absolute worst out in some. The amount of games this morning that there where deliberate disconnects, arseholes kill stealing, coreing you from behind, after getting the points people deliberately suiciding is just ridiculous.
Oh and the stupid high points cap to complete.
PGI throws a bone and that gives players an excuse to act like ******* muppets.

The score required is so high that lights and mediums (with a few exceptions) need not apply, on top of that the way you are screwed in the CW matches for dieing.

Yeah, its a hot mess.

The worst part is the nonsensical stupidity that is the CW match score system, where your score gets divided by the amount of mechs you used.
You can have the most kills, the most assists and the most damage on your team and fail to get the 300 points, while the guy that spread some lasers on the enemy and then hid the entire match (and didn't lose a single mech) gets over 1000 points.

It's EASILY the worst event PGI has done since Tukayyid. I really thought PGI learned how to make them decent from the last few we had, but i guess i was wrong.

^^ this.

Pisses me off.

Twice I had 8 or better kills and top damage, assists and whatnot. Barely qualled 300.

I guess personal responsibility did take a hike. And the above is a very good example of what this community has become. <smh>

I bet you that if PGI dangles a rotting dead mouse, a few will jump up and and down to try to bite it. Eww!

This. I've been intentionally cored out from behind several times unless I'm running a light, and then, some of them go out of their way to try to leg me before first contact. I'll be glad when things get back to normal. I made score ONCE on one map. Worst. Challenge. Ever.

Ive seen some great play, but mostly a lot of moaning about how rubbish other players are - sometimes the moaners have a good score, but mostly not.

Ive also found my scores getting worse as the weekend progresses for some reason so Ive now given up on getting my last two maps and am running each of my x2 daily Mechs one after the other.
