This thread is about what mechs should be in the next IS pack. It appears that Pgi is going to release the Unseen individually like they're doing with the Marauder. For this thread I'd prefer if people choose mechs based upon how good they'd (hopefully) be in MWO. Nostalgia or "it looks cool" shouldn't be the main reasons to add a mech in this case.

Mechs should be available by 3052. There's been talk of moving up the timeline but currently it's 3052.

My choices:

Light: http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Mongoose or http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Spector

Medium: http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Raijin or http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Assassin (niche filler)

Heavy: http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Penetrator or http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Falconer or http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Lancelot

Assault: http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Nightstar or http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Gunslinger

Bah, PGI should do away with packs. They are too damn expensive, and a-la-carte is a ripoff.

That would please the meta crowd. It's a pair of legs with a cockpit shoved inbetween and a gun turret on top. ;)

I'd love to see what Alex can do with the Turkina and Falconer.

But I'm not buying any mech packs unless they do some kind of Somerset special edition hero mech pack with Adam Steiner's Axman and Nicolai Malthus' Summoner.

If PGI shouldn't sell them in bundles or singly, how should they sell them?

Spector is 3053 OP and I really doubt PGI would stick to the original intent of an ammo independent deep raider and light assassin 'Mech in their made up variants (others are out of timeline or have things which would likely be game breaking).

Mongoose would be nothing more than a Commando with an extra energy hardpoints? If you want to add a light mech, we need something that isn't already offered. We don't have an IS 20 or 25 ton that jumps, so the Hornet, Wasp and Stinger could cover the 20 ton weight class. The 25 tonners are a bit limited, but a Sling or a Jackrabbit could be made to work (need fake variants) and the Clan needs Locust IIC. For and IS 30 ton, we need a Javelin, because we need a missile boat in that weight range. Clan need Urbanmech IIC - need I say more?

I don't think that MWO's timeline advances in real-time anymore, after being reset several times... Now it only advances when Pee Gee Eye says so, otherwise it stands still.

I don't care about performance, if they look like dung on legs I won't buy them.

Nostalgia is the only point in buying mech's now, the market is swamped

I don't care if the mech is "strong" or not. If I like the mech, I'll want it. The Flea comes to mind. Still waiting for it.

mech packs are for fan boys. I buy for cbills after they are determined to be good. For good mechs in packs, if the light and med are decent it is not a bad deal for tier 2 pack or 1 mech at ala carte. for the fun ones and the bad apples wait for cbills too

I just want my Vulcan...
We need 40 tonners and the Vulcan would be an excellent choice for one. (along with the Assassin)
