If they do this smartly, they will implement it as a single bar with tier markings instead of a bar for each tier. Then the tryhards can put it into their signature.

That is where you are wrong. Opinions matter, even those of new players. But people cannot bandy about their opinions as facts.

I can state, "I don't like night maps". I can say that "I wish game modes had important secondary objectives." What I can't say is "LRMs are incredibly OP and if you disagree with me you are either an LRM abuser or a lair" which is an opinion found very often in LRM threads and just isn't true.

My first thought was that this would lead to people see tier as goal instead of a match maker balancer. But this is cool, more info is always better than none at all and i think ill like to visualy see how my playing the different mech i own influence that. Especialy when the "battlevalue" is implemented.

Higher up the Tier is one thing but you have to consider number of people in your tier or the girth if you will.

I think you might have missed the context in which I typed that - what I intended to convey was that I anticipate statements like that becoming the norm, not that it was my personal feeling on the subject. The peenswing happens anywhere you give people a way to measure against their peers in any way, no matter how trivial. New guys will pop in (especially after steam launch) and public PSR will be just another tool in the arsenal of the already-toxic playerbase. That's all I'm worried about. If we like playing this game (which we must, to still be here) then it's in all our best interest to maintain and grow the playerbase. You don't do that by taking new guys and immediately hammering into their heads how cruddy and new they are. They *know* they're cruddy and new. I'd like to see people celebrate another player's first 500 damage game. I hope to hear someone offer constructive input to the timberwolf with ersl spl srm6 lrm20 and machineguns. I don't want to see them beaten down. I *hope* that it won't turn out that way, but I think the chances of it being anything but a [willy?] swinging contest where lonely unemployed neckbeards immediately use it to tank someone else's day are pretty slim.
