Question PGI -->
How the hell the new users will operate their mech with a minimap that doesn't show the current direction of their feet?

Hell... those few games I played I am suffering from that sheet....

Don't like new minimap. Need my cone of vision and leg pointing arrow. Otherwise I keep getting disoriented trying to steer to enemies and friends. And the arrow in cockpit option is for newbies, not veterans. Also you can tell what the terrain around you is. I do like idea of seeing my whole team, but horrible implementation.

I am playing this game for almost four years now and I haven't complained a lot, but this minimap is really crap. It's a max map on mini space. On bigger maps you can't see a thing, because it's reduced to such a tiny space. And the design is ... kinda 1990s - the opposite of the rest of the cockpit.

I want my old minimap back, NOW!!!!

Trying to figure out if World of Tanks has a lawsuit, or not.

I mean if you're going to rip them off, don't half-*** it and make it absolutely non-functional.

Yup, everything is great, but fix that mini-map. Turn the map not the marker, make the map zoomable - 3 levels or something, and put the grid markers back in the center of the grid squares - too much time spent figuring out co-ordinates when you can only look for half a second.

I agree with everyone here! this is new version is horrible! I absolutely did not realize how much I used the mini map and now stare at it trying to figure what anyone is doing,,,, did anyone actually test this prior to releasing it?

Conspiracy theory: Old minimap was useful to those who knew how to use it. New minimap equally inscrutable to everyone.

They want to take away enemy facing, OK, whatever, but my facing...I am unwilling to totally relearn to play.

I'll wait to judge for myself later, but

Half thought out programming of something that didn't need to be fix..... yep, sounds like PGI.

On the bright side,if its as bad as I suspect, I'll have more time to work on finishing in my basement/shop. (I blame Russ for the extra sore muscles though)

Emergency patch back in the old Minimap.

My first match with the new map, I felt that I was piloting blind! No sense of direction or way to orient to the your location. This is a major step backwards.

i agree with 99% of everyone here this might be the nail in the coffin as far as MWO goes for me the new minimap is just so bad

I don't think so, otherwise they would not put THIS into the game...

The big problem with this mini map is simply the fact that the mech's arrow rotates, instead of the map itself rotating when we do. We take our stationary self for granted, so when we see a dot on the left side of the map, our brain immediately assumes its to our left, not on the left side of the map. This makes it very confusing.

It needs an option to rotate the map, or a hotfix to do so. Right now, it's incredibly confusing, and for a mid/light sniper like me, it's borderline unplayable. Changing a map's size or cosmetics isn't hard to adjust to. Changing a sense of relativity ingrained into us from years of gaming in any game is not. PGI please fix.
