It's the aggregate score across all of your mechs, and is primarily based on match scores.

All but 1 Map with a positive W/L, all Mechs with a positive W/L, more often than not a top 4 Player in the PUGs i am placed in.
Well, i dont play neither Clan nor Quirkmonster...but me in Tier 4 would still have been totally unfair to the Newbs!

LOL, seriosuly? so regulary 400-600 damage with some bad 250 and some exceptional 800+ damage matches (nad the scores related to this) makes me by judgement merely better than a noob?
Ok, I can deal with whatever the game wants to judge me,
BUT WTF ARE ABOUT THE REAL NOOBS those are players hopless lost playing vs me, when the game judges me T3 1/4 I do not wonder when they have a bad gamign experience, they should skillwiese not play vs me, yet they have to, and i am supposed to be "not much a noob"
even further I regulary play with and vs others that have shown their T1's and i can hold my ground in score comparison in those matches with them.
I am quite confused about how this is judgement works, because given i can even face the lowest skilled pilots, this is far from fair for them.
T5 and proud, I will play against you and not even cry when I go BOOM.

So mu sucking in those could artificially lower the reality of my skill level in a Hunchback...which as you say..ain't really fair to me, or my prey.
This is a problem as well as the fact that anyone who plays crap mechs to level or for fun gets a bit screwed. My MMR pre-PSR was exactly the same as Jman5's (currently max Tier 1) - we basically always got dropped with or against each other, which made sense since our skill level is pretty close. I don't think I've played badly enough in the last month to have such a huge gap from where my Tier rating bar is at right now.
EDIT: So basically I think it's my random mechs that brought me down. Messing around in solo queue seems to have had a pretty big impact. Just means I have to pull out the try-hard mechs until I'm where I think I should be.

I am not twitch shooter so I will be lucky to hit Tier 2 ever as long as I never level another mech.
The game is far from being a thinking mans shooter anymore. Its more like pay bucks to always have the best meta and gear or just pray your twitch skills are better than most.

I think volume has more to do with it than anything. Even great matches probably don't move your tier score up that much, so you're probably a lot more skilled than your tier reflects thus far.

This. The current system is weighted heavy toward damage, getting that much damage in a light is not always feasible. Especially since normally I back stab and go for the kill.

Switching from only wins and losses (plus the adjustment for strength of schedule) to something weighted towards match score was going to create outliers. Some players who lost a lot but had good individual performances are going to find themselves in a higher PSR tier than their Elo. Some players who won a lot but had lower match scores than people of a similar Elo are going to have the reverse situation.
If players are playing frequently enough and matchmaker is doing its job, it shouldn't take too long to sort itself out as their performance reflects suddenly being a minnow swimming with the sharks or the reverse.

I sorta expected to be lower tier on my Clan Acct, because the Clan MetaMechs bore me. ANd I have a really bad habit of playing in a Stock Summoner Prime.....and lately a couple hundred straight matches in crappy ShadowCats.
Oddly, while my KDr is a bit lower on my Clan Acct...my W?L anbd Avg XP is significantly higher..... so I guess we can surmise that KDr is the biggest tier factor.
Pretty sure its winning and matchscore (which effects the variable k-factor). KDR is certainly going to be correlated somewhat with Tiers but I bet atleast someone out there can have a 1 point something KDR at tier 1.

Assuming the metric PGI uses is reliable and actually measures skill. Time will tell.
Im curious as to the 'EXP' bar under your tier. Is it indicative of your standing in that tier or is it how much score you need to advance to the next tier?
