You're losing.

Simple as that - you can, at best, increase your PSR SLIGHTLY on a loss if you perform out of your mind when you lose - otherwise you will be losing PSR.

If you WIN you are guaranteed to either break even, or increase your PSR to a small, medium, or great degree.

So, to answer your question:
If you are truly generating an average damage of 600-800 every single match, the only possible way for you to be Tier 5 is for you to LOSE the majority of your matches, regardless of this damage.

That's not quite right since 600-800 would be a 300+ match score which would mean at worst he would get an = and not go down.

This is one of those 'read between the lines' kind of things. It's in the last 'if' statement...

There seems to be a lot of focus on KDR and W/L in the forums, but how often do you get scout, flank, hit and run etc bonuses also have a impact on the rating. So even if someone has better "stats" they can still have a lower rating since they never get the other stuff.

Proper scouting means you are helping your team win. If your team wins, you don't have to have a super high score to increase your PSR.

Guys, by what I read around, winning the match counts more for a good PSR than dmg/kills... because even with a good damage, if your team lost, is more like you will get a yellow =...

I don't know how true this is. I almost always gu up, win or lose 400+ damage and a kill seem to offset it. Not that I've noticed any change in my overall level.

Firstly, system said im Tier5. So be it.

Im doing 600-800 damage with assaults in every second match, sometimes killing 1, sometimes 3-5.
Id like to know, if T1 pilots could write here their average stats, ie KDR + damage and cbills earning (non +30%), to compare.
Id like to know, what exactly is the difference between T5 and T1 gameplay. Why system said im 5.

EDIT: im not willing to be T1. (T4 is all i wanted)

B/c you're "Doing blah blah damage with blah blah kills" against T5 and T4 players.

If I could bring my T1 account with fully decked out mechs into a match against you, I would wipe the floor.

Which is exactly what we're seeing with these streamers that create new accounts to "rise through the tiers".

They completely stomp until they start facing guys of their skill again.

Tier 3 player here.

Here are my general stats, with a winrate above 52%:
Spoiler

Note that I play Hero mechs a lot, so my cbill/battle rating isn't comparable to someone that doesn't.

And my most commonly played mechs
Spoiler

...yes, that is a Pretty Baby in #3 spot, with a positive win and kill ratio, and over 400 damage/battle; I often enjoy playing mechs that other people regard as 'bad'.

In my more recent play, I tend to average around 55% winrate, 1.5 Kills/Death and 300-500 damage/battle in everything but light mechs (which I do horribly with).

Near as I can tell, PSR is most influenced by winrate; if you can't win battles, you won't have a good PSR. Ultimately this encourages players to actually play as a team, and discourages selfish damage/kill farming play has less influence on a battle.

I've always said that players that score lots of damage but screw their team over by making tactical mistakes that put their team at a disadvantage are bad players, and now the PSR system is reflecting this fact.

This right here...

Which is why so many self proclaimed "good" players are mad at PSR.

It's a mirror and they don't like their reflection.
