T4 is best imho. stay there.

I replaced my arti strike with UAV because i found out that in T4 that is a lot more helpful.

Anyway, since introduction of the xp bar i am making screenshots from my progress (including stats page) from time to time. At my current w/l rate of ~2/3 wins plus several losses with PSR =/+ it took me around 75 matches to make ~25% progress in T4.

In February i started using a data tool, and since i am mostly playing my 4G(F) it is rather easy for me to backtrack my PSR. Stats are from start using the tool, up to introduction of PSR, to current values.

2015-02-04 21:52 : HUNCHBACK HBK-4G: 2270 Games, 1189 Wins (52.4%), 2854/1310 K/D, 303 DPG
2015-08-17 21:15 : HUNCHBACK HBK-4G: 3644 Games, 1877 Wins (51.5%), 4373/2151 K/D, 288 DPG
2015-10-09 00:23 : HUNCHBACK HBK-4G: 3821 Games, 1983 Wins (51.9%), 4643/2253 K/D, 290 DPG

Despite the fact that i was still above average at introduction of PSR the half year of ELO hell kicked me into low T4. Now i am plowing through that tier and it is only a short matter of time i will reach T3.

I barely play this game anymore. If I could donate my tier to another player I would. You just can't have my mechs and other swag.

I actually went into the settings and disabled my tier display. Rather measure my performance by other metrics.

number one thing I have against posted stats.....people stop playing for fun, and worry too much about spreadsheets.

Screw the numbers...... play how it makes you actually ENJOY the game.

I sometimes think that the tier thing was just a massive mistake.I switched it off in the mechlab because it just annoyed me.Now that it's off I'm actually enjoying the game more.
Another aspect of it it has turned some of our forumers into arrogant ******,you know the ones the git gud or noob attitude,I work hard, have a large family so I don't have tons of free time to sink hours upon hours into this.
I am tier 3,but that means absolutely **** all to me.If I feel I did my best and contributed decently that's all I need. Not some stupid pixel meter.

I only display mine because I think tier 2 for a 100% pure pugger who never, ever plays meta is pretty good going.

If I was tier 5 I would openly display it.

I've piloted just about every IS mech in the game for short periods of time leading to low stats. But I feel that this doesn't accurately show my skill. I do a lot of group que where we face some of the comp groups where I keep up with the pack. It feels like I've been penalized for playing a variety of mechs instead of staying in my best performers. Anyone else feel this way?

I play almost every single mech (140+ cycle, including clan lights) off and on with very little time spend running the uber quirked mechs - most it it is spent getting first wins on random/new mechs I just rebuilt for the purpose of leveling them.

So being in T5 isn't a product of playing a wide variety of mechs - its really a result of not learning the fundamentals of team play. If you have a basic grasp of supporting and running with your team the very lowest you should be ranking is the top end on T4 even if you run nothing but Black Knights and Myst Lynx. That is unless you are tanking your matches purposefully.

Lol I dropped from tier 3 to tier 4 in the space of a few hours play :D
All leveling of mechs should now cease.

How did you achieve this greatness?

My first mechs were Commandos and i struggled to get 200 damage/match for 6 months.

Now im T2.

Just learn from your mistakes. MWO is a hard game.

I don't get why people keep thinking PSR is linked to teamplay?
...
Damage is the defining factor for the rating and thus, after winning, also for your ranking.

To the OP, rejoice with your Tier! You're in the fairground shooting range. Have fun while it lasts :)

I decided I needed to grab so King Krabs.
So since this past Sunday I've been leveling them.
Hadn't paid much attention to the pixel bar, then for whatever reason I started having multiple matches.
Where the other side had a 4 to 1 advantage in ecm mechs.
One of my Krabs is a lurm boat the rest are pure brawlers.
But defeat after defeat after defeat the little pixels vanished.
The culmination was this.
Frozen City I suggested the assault lance push thru the cave, the rest of the group hold at the saddle until we got into position
We lumbered halfway thru the tunnel when half the lance decided to turn back around.
Why I don't know leaving my Krab and a DDC.
The team collapsed like a house of cards in a hurricane, leaving just the DDC, a Ebon J and my Krab.
The screenshot explains the rest.

Are you having fun, if yes then why does Tier matter?

If you are really concerned though, bring a strong heavy or assault and play constantly to raise your tier.

I'm increasing my grind time by playing almost nothing but a Jenner F.

Yeah, I am by no means a Tier 1 kind of player, but I resent being constantly stuck with players who really, really, do not know what they are doing.

You know the kind.

I feel this Tier system is going to force me out of this game soon, and this makes me kinda sad.

sometimes i get pissed off. but sometimes i find myself actually cool with it, because everyone has to start somewhere after all.

i find voice comms very useful because you can guide the obviously new guy on where to look, where to shoot etc. and if he's responsive, does well and wins the game, the feeling for both parties is really nice.

Tiers are a joke and mean next to nothing of importance. T5 I found to be a lot of fun and now im working my way towards T2 and its a lot more up and down. Dont worry just play and enjoy.

I started an alt to play both faction sides and it booted me to tier 4 on the 5th match. I was using the trial ACH Prime. Too many hat tricks.

No one particularly likes people who put other people down. So of coarse there's not going to be a rush of folks saying negative things about where a player might be skill and tier wise. That said I can't see anything wrong with striving to reach as high a level of play you can get to until you hit your personal ceiling.

Personally I was miserable in tier 5 after simply jumping into the game without guidance when I started. After an angry guy in an Atlas turned and tk'd me in my hunchie and told me that I would never be tier five like him because I was hiding instead of being up front I decided I wanted to get better and play with and against better players.

So let's not forget a couple of things. First a brand new player will generally be in tier four fairly quickly and tier five is for those who either are completely lost or are a vehemently anti-team player. Second the bar for getting a steady increase or playing well enough to not go down in a loss is not that high. Even leveling a ton of mechs, even not necessarily meta should see you getting better and getting an increase more times than not.

So I don't think people should feel bad about where they are at as long as they are doing there best and trying to get better. Then again different people have different motives.

Erm OP player is in Tier 3. Did I miss something?

I'd give away c-bills to reset my tier to play lore builds with T5's but I know there's still a risk it might screw up the MM mechanics.

Anyways, to the lame people always calling T1 players "tryhards" and "meta only players"... please grow up. I am sick of reading stuff like that, I really dont get the salt from that. If the Tiers are working then people will be settled and the "progress" bar will very slowly rise.

If you are stuck in a tier, be happy with it. It's better than being out of a league for style/mechs you use which will end in constant rofls against you. If you are winning and losing, it's about right. If it's one or the other, somethings wrong.
