My Locust 1E cost 30,498,992 C-bills after accounting for the upgrades and modules (Derp, Info, Shocks, Med. Range, Med. Cool)...

...

...holy sh*t.

Edit: Ninja.

And that's not counting the consumables. The UAVs because you want to know if you are turning the corner into someone's bigass guns or sensors, to hand red doritos to the dudes with thick skulls, and basically situation awareness in general that's so critical. Arties because they finish off the job as the victim's friends come running and to cover your ass while you get the hell out, etc. Well you don't have to use them, yes, but I just want to point out they are just so useful to lights...

Oh I use them. UAVs almost every match, strikes only if I'm certain it'll do some good.

Funny that, without R&R, Lights are the most expensive machines to continuously field.

T3

The cheetah and firestarter have hitreg issues. I feel the firepower and quirks however are in a good place. Good brawling lights that are fun to play.

Raven is in a good place with the present quirks. Longrange sniper, ECM support, SRM brawler, NARC tag scout mech. Good role warfare with this mech.

Adder is in a decent spot. Could use a CT buff but thats it. Good firepower and good hardpoints.

Kitfox needs size reduced. Very fragile but still a decent support mech with ECM and the ability to carry a variety of builds.

The rest are very subpar especially in the new PSR meta where damage and wins matter more than anything. They just cant carry unless piloted by a superb pilot.

I just don't have seismic. I only have info on it because I have nothing better to put on and I don't feel like dropping 6 mil on a module when I need it for big XL engines (Jester) or Ebon Jags.

That said, it is nice to be able to know, almost instantly, where to shoot a target. You start taking it for granted until you go back to a 'Mech without it.

I just use my ears for seismic. Has the same drawback: can't use while moving. :D

Uh, no seismic serves a different purpose.
UAVs are more of an active radar.

I can attack someone in a light and when the situation looks bad I put up a UAV and runs. The UAV tells me exactly what is following me (2+ lights? A streak boat? Laser boat with long beam time that I can engage?) and if that target of mine is still looking this way or leaving and etc. I also use it when things get chaotic during an engagement, so that no one sneaks onto me so easily (I see the arrows that indicate their directions...) or I run into thing red around the corner while I am occupied with moving with hunting or dodging other enemies.

As a whole class lights are OK, of course there are some that need help desperately, anyway with then new quirk system coming soon ™ we'll have to wait and see who is who.

Tier 2, mostly a light pilot.

Nerfed.
T1.

Ever since PGI introduced their initial quirk system, they overbuffed lights. The Ember and the JR7-F were the best lights in the game, and they're both now regarded as fairly trash. There was no reason, in my opinion a s light pilot at the time, that anything had to be stronger than those two mechs - only equal. And PGI went on and made lights better, making them ever more valuable than medium mechs, which I think is wrong.

I have no idea how you are going to make an anti-infantry machine into a mech destroyer. That's like hiring a bug exterminator to hunt lions with you in Africa.

On the other hand, technology should advance in some way, but lights should not become easier to play.

Lights need to be kicked and punched, if for no other reason than for PGI getting any more money from me.

By asking responders for their tier you are validating all of the arguements against releasing this statistic. It has no place in any gameplay discussions and is only inviting problems on the forums.

Incorrect. He's correlating the ability to aim based on tier. I'd say buffed (Tier 3) as when I see guys I know to be in Tier 2 or 1 they have a life of .25 seconds on being spotted.

In Tier 3-4 where the reactions and accuracy aren't as good, they survive better.

Most lights should be buffed to be as good as Firestarters and Arctic Cheetahs. The best lights are in a good place right now.

==> we need a way that buffs lights in high tiers but dont make them op in low tiers..
any ideas on how to do that?

Personally i belive that underperfoming lights need a bit of quirkage (small weapon quirks, in particular duration bonus + small armor buffs) coupled with strong maneuverability bonuses (accell/decel/reverse speed/ turn) and strong sensor bonuses (slower dorito appearance/ longer range sensors/ faster info gathering).
