You had pre-ordered the Black Knight. It was nice of you to support the game like that. Pre-orderes give PGI operating capital and it helps to keep the lights on. Thank you.
Now, you *did* intentionally order a Mech that has only low-mounted energy hardpoints, just like an Awesome 8Q. You knew this; you saw the concept art on the page where you bought the Mech pack. So, if you think about it.... You bought a 75 ton Awesome 8Q. You may or may not have been around this game long enough to know how the Awesome 8Q was introduced to this game, and how it was rendered obsolete, but I will summarize.
The AWS8Q was an early Mech in this game; it was useful for a while due to its copious EN hardpoints and could mount a huge engine. However, when the Stalker with it's equally-numerous hardpoints that are all mounted high was introduced (coupled with an awesome engine cap at 300), the Awesome was rendered obsolete. The Stalker's high-mounted hardpoints killed the Awesome.
So, here we are, and you have an all-low-mounted energy Mech. If you were here for the Stalker's introduction to MWO, then you know you were buying a non-viable 75 Ton Mech in the form of the Black Knight. It's called "History Repeating." So, you really can''t complain about it.
If you are newer to the game and did not have a chance to learn from the Awesome 8Q, then you may have an excuse to be dissatisfied with your BK purchase, but a limited excuse. You did know that it would be an all-low-energy Mech, and you had to at least consider that before making your purchase. Maybe you thought that it would be Quirked into viability, but that kind of purchasing "hope" is just that - blind hope that what you know is based on poor content would be buffed into something useful.
--------------------------
Overall, nobody who purchased the pack has a right to say that "The Black Knight is worse than I expected" or anything like that because all evidence suggested that it would be a lowq-quality combat vehicle. The only people who have the right to complain are people who were disappointed at the BK design and decided to not buy it.
It is me and my peers, the disenfranchised non-purchasers, who are the only people who were ripped-off because we never got a chance to buy a good Black Knight.
