This echos my sentiments exactly. The IS campaign is well balanced and makes a lot of sense. The best table-top battletech gaming that I played is by far IS vs IS teams. The clan-tech, when mixed with 3025 technology, constitutes little more than cheating. The fact is, with the current design of this game, clans will "NEVER" be balanced until the IS actually catches up by using ER Small and ER Medium Lasers, X-pulse weapons, and Light XL engines. Even with those additions, the game won't be balanced enough. With the coming IIC clan collection, the balance will be even further in the clans favor.
Let's see if the leadership of Mr. Weisman resists the money grab element of bringing the clan in and actually makes a very playable, well balanced game!

Since this will be a Single-Player RPG, I am sure that if they ever add the Clans, that the Clans will follow the rules of Zelbrigen and will drop 10 (or less) vs 12 like in lore.

Mech Commander is a BattleTech game, but I agree that I would rather have something more like table top mixed with Crescent Hawk's.

Our friends over at Harebrained Schemes are preparing to launch a Kickstarter campaign for the first turn-based, tactical combat BattleTech PC game in over two decades!
Given their outstanding success at introducing a new era of gamers to the amazing world of Shadowrun, we are extremely excited to see what Jordan Weisman and the Harebrained team will be able to accomplish for the BattleTech Universe with the backing and support of BattleTech fans across the globe.
To help foster a strong visual continuity across the modern BattleTech Universe, we are proud to be sharing the BattleMech designs and 3D models of MechWarrior Online with Harebrained Schemes.
What if every BattleTech fan in the world backed this Kickstarter on Day One, Hour One? If you want to contribute to this milestone return of turn-based, tactical BattleTech combat, help us perform a Day One Alpha Strike on the BattleTech Kickstarter campaign. That's your opinion, and while I love RTS more than turn based, I think this will be a good one for it.

No necessarily, well... the phrasing doesn't help, but some of us do enjoy RTS more than Turn Based.

I just dont trust kickstarters to begin with too many take your money and never actually finish the game.
