Current Events And Match Score Requirements

Events are cool. Rewards are cool. Bad events are not cool. I think everyone can agree on that. I'm not going to get into what qualifies as a good or bad event, that's a whole different, and much more complex, topic. I would, however, like to voice my personal opinion that match score requirements for the past two events are far too high.
As a tier 1-2 player, I have no trouble achieving the match score required. But if I get in a mech I want to level, or one that doesn't have the best build possible, I should still be able to complete the requirements easily, provided the game is at least fairly decent. Here's my reasoning: events need to be accessible to the entire community. Or at the very least, tier 1-4 players. The current match score requirements are, in my opinion, far too high for that. The fact that I often struggle in a sub-par or unleveled mech is a clear indication of that. I've seen many people struggling to get the required match score. This, in part at least, contributes to the "bad gameplay" we all hate to see during events. Events should be fun, accessible (not necessarily easy, but accessible) to everyone, and give decent rewards.
The way I see it this is not happening. The rewards are there but the rest is questionable. In any case, this is my opinion and I thought it should be addressed as I know many people are struggling to complete the requirements for events. Feel free to discuss, as somewhat of an anti-forum person, I probably will not join in.
Remember 30 match score? I thought that was perfect. Let's go back to that.

The match score thing isn't too hard, but it would only be a bigger deal if the rewards were worth it.

I have to agree. After playing over 30 matches today. Only 3 qualified for awards. And out of those 30 I lost 20 of those matches...

Except it's not. It's an event, not a challenge or a tournament.
Except they are.

That's for the loyalty rewards.
I don't call that a challenge to drop 100 times though.
I only screenshoted the top of the page but said page includes everything.
Not gona take 20 screenshots to show it.
Also the challenge in this event is not the number of drops but getting the required match score in 100 games.
EDIT: Well most of the events.

That isn't for this. That is the 2015 active customer reward for the 2015 Customer Appreciation rewards program. Which has been running effectively since January since all matches since then count.

You must have played at least 100 matches since January 1st 2015 12:01 AM PST (8:01 AM UTC).
Payback isn't a challenge. It's just a plain event.

Complain about the RNG maps all you want. That was pretty nuts, even with 4 maps pulled from the rotation. But the score requirements? Nah. People can get right on over it. It's not like the next 9 events won't be yet another participation ribbon slog fest for those players who were ever so inconvenienced by being unable to win this one.

But you need to be thinking about people who are less skilled than you are, whatever tier you are in. And most importantly we should all be thinking about new players. You know who would really benefit from these events and it would make getting into the game SO much easier? New players. With the current match score requirement, new players have literally zero chance of getting the required score. (Unless they are born to play MWO, which is VERY rare.)
I play with quite a few players who I would call good MWO players. But they struggle very much to meet the event requirements and that makes me very sad, and most of all disappointed. I'm very disappointed in how PGI interacts with the community. In this specific instance, how they only look at the "average" MWO player, forgetting the fact that MWO is a very difficult game and many people struggle to perform at the average level. MWO needs more players, not less.

Little Timmy missed out on 1 whole Mech Bay's worth of MC and a Hula Girl for his cockpit? Don't worry, boss. He'll get it for sure next time when the barrier for entry is to show up and fire your weapons once or twice - just like every other event we've had.
This event was very specifically tuned for maximum score-age in an attempt to feed data into PSR before tiers went public. It is hardly the norm.

It's actually 120 games.
20 in each weight class (* 4 weight classes = 80 matches)
40 in CW
80+40 = 120 games
120*5=600MC max
120*50k C-bills = 6 Mil C-bills max
The counter is strictly for the loyalty bonus.

The counter is entirely irrelevant. It just happens to be on top. Had I taken a screenshot of everything else under it wouldn't even of been brought up.

Doing the occasional game for 2x XP but that's about it. That last event really, really discouraged me... it was the proverbial last straw, I suppose. I still love MWO but PGI has disappointed me completely. Too many things have been done to disappoint me in too short a period of time. I haven't even been playing MWO all that long, lol. But that's a whole other story. MWO is still lots of fun, despite everything!
