Ahh. Good luck with it! It is for a good cause. I've got way too much going on in my own life at the moment to commit to anything like this--but those who DO have time... sign up!

Duels are a fantastic way to learn your personal limits and weaknesses as a pilot--and they are FUN.

Just showing them their place in this nuthouse. If they actually prove me wrong, then that would be refreshing indeed.

The point I debate is your use of the word 'proof.'

The tourney is....

COMPETE FOR THE CURE TOURNAMENT From Soulstrom.

El Bandito really wants to make this tourney happen, as do I.

If anything if you compete it'll be for something good.

Also El I'm already in it, so chances are I'll be going up against you (as a Tier 2) and will be waiting for you :)

If you want to promote a charitable event, this thread is going about it all wrong.

I have to second this. Bandito's masturbatory bravado makes the event seem worthy of being ignored. Were it up to my judgement, I'd have the thread deleted so that it does not unfairly color people's perceptions of an event being held for a good cause.

I dunno about all the negativity - I like this guy's attitude.
Read the first post again, but read it in the fun way it's written, and don't lay all your own neuroses onto it for god's sake. :P

It's a fun tournament, for a good cause, and if you're matched up vs this guy, and the PGI says you're "meant" to be worse than him, but you actually show yourself to be better, then he'll do you the honour of giving out some free loot - what's not to like about that?

Damn, people - life's for enjoying, not for finding fault...
Ps; I already saw this comp and would be in like a shot, but it's US time-based and I wouldn't be able to commit to middle of the night matchups drawn at random - sadly... But GLHF to everyone who does play, and I'd love to see some vids of the duels!

The thread is not nonconstructive, and we know El Bandito to be a little joking once in a while.

And even if it was up to your judgement, that would be considered bad moderating, we both know that, and this thread, is just another way to get people going and looking into it, If one looked at this thread and the other, one could clearly tell that this thread is harmless in so many ways, and that poor judgement of this leads to comments that dismiss the OP as someone who is using tiers to make him above others.

To put it short: El Bandito is being jokingly about his challenge, and he wants this tourney to happen because, simply put, it's for a good cause and more.

I mean, the title, "...Those who deny my 1337 Skillz"? With a Z at the end of skill? That's humor, not seriousness.

That's just from your point of view, others see it as humor (As I do), or just something to read up on.

But then again I remember you're one of the more serious people here, so that's that.

Where did you learn to internet? One must argue for the sake of demonstrating the wrongness of our fellow man to prove our worth. When someone is wrong or giving an opinion that is not shared by exactly everyone the best and only course of action is to attack with all guns blazing. ;)

I am going to way in on this post. I want everyone to know that there are already several non EST players signed up for the tournament. Someone asked this so I am going to post it here so there is further clarification on the timing for this tournament.

View PostNaduk, on 27 September 2015 - 05:47 PM, said:

Soulstorm i intend to compete but i am from Australia
can you please indicate some more specific times you expect the tournament to run
October 10, 2015 from 8:00 AM to 11:30 PM (CDT)

thats a nice relaxed Saturday playing MWO for you guys
for me thats 23:00 Sunday to 14:30 Monday
that is a massive time commitment

A formal detailed schedule will be released once the registration period is closed.

But I am aware of the time constraints of many of the participants. Everyone will know at what times they are dropping well in advance of the tournament [minimum 5 days in advance].

So you will know exactly what time you should get onto MWO so that you are not spending your entire day just sitting around. Also you will know when you are dropping too. :)

Everyone is going to get a fair shake at this. Open invitation to all involved on this thread if you register and you absolutely can't participate for whatever reason I will (as mentioned) refund your participation fees. :)

Props and my thanks go out to El Bandito for helping to see that this tournament come to a full realization.

I would consider it, but I am from Ohio so doing anything for something in Michigan seems like a bad idea even if it is for the children. :o
That being said that tournament schedule doesn't work for me which is why I never signed up to begin with let alone for something as silly as measuring our {Richard Cameron} on the table. Perhaps sometime we can have a friendly 1v1 without silly restrictions. :)

All I have to say is...Ha. Gave me a good chuckle. *thumbs up* and well played.

Aren't you a volunteer mod? So it's okay to cut on you too correct? I kinda agree with Escef on this. It may be just his view point but his attitude stinks regardless if he's joking.

I've never seen Bandito play, I've seen him in the forum, he sure seems proud of his tier whatever it is. However this 1v1 circle jerk really means squat in a psr environment. Being that PSR is team related. Sure is a shame I had to sell my computer... Being smug rubs me the wrong way completely.

Seriously against people being dipsticks, yeah. This thread doesn't come across as comedy, it comes across to me (and obviously some others) as trolly. And if you're happy with that, well, good for you. I hope it doesn't end up being counter-productive.

Honestly in a 1 .v. 1 environment tiers and psr don't mean much. This is a skill based tournament where players will be competing in a Solaris type match up. Even if you are the best team player out there might not mean much when you are all alone. Our unit runs these types of duels for training and fun. I have to say that I find them really enlightening about my play-style and that they are quite stressful. You only have yourself to rely on and your skills alone. :)

So do you want to compete? Just asking because you seem super interested in the thread. :D Would love to have you as a participant. I could even set it up where you and El Bandito duel, assuming he wants too. B)

Maybe some pre-tournament action to get everyone excited. What do you say?

You're overlooking one thing:

If he's being smug about it why would he add this to it? :

Have you even seen the Community ran tourney at all yet?

If not, you need to go read it now.
