Pretty much this...

If MWO stays even close to what it is now I'll never play it again once BT releases

I like your name.

Are you a ALT account of someone's main? (forgive me if you're not)

No, I just have high hopes of being awesome with the atlas in the future....

If only I could get past thing grind to actually get one >.<

Everybody in my teams always tells me that lights / mediums can take such a beating, or lights / mediums can do so much damage so that people will want to pilot them....

But if everything is equally powerful.... WHY DO ASSAULTS COST SO MUCH GARRRR

There are a fairly vocal group of fans on the MWO forum alone that love 3025 the best of all and anything that comes after less and less.

Heck, theres even people that run stock mechs and half of them are less than appealing.

I have to say from the times I played Stock Mech matches, it is incredibly fun and feels really good. The higher heat and lower armor really feels right. The weapons are devastating but cannot be spammed and the heat differences between weapons really come alive.

For example: You should see how much a crapton of buyers are still ignoring the fact that the ACH is stil a imbalanced p.o.s. It's still imbalanced, but alot of people are still denying it.

Community screamers got what they wanted.

When ACH released got released on it's full strength, it was another eyeopener that PGI does nothing knows about balance.

PTS is just a bigger example.

All i know i am probaly gone when the Beta starts within one year because i firmly believe the guys a HBS will rock the scene.

PGI got 2 years to make it right. When this year started reasonable, but snail speed of development. I know whats going to happen the next two years: zero, nada, nope. Because PGI still deals with a minimal viable product.

And thats a thing that won't change.

It could mean good things for MWO, hopefully some of the turnbased fans will try MWO after playing Btech.

As for the OP hinting at 3025 being the reason battletech was funded so fast.. Please.. Myself and 5 others just backed this at $125 and up and we're all clanners, we backed it because we love playing Battletech games. The "3025 era is best era" is definitely the most vocal of the groups but your not the majority.

Also to the gripes about having to wait.. it's KICKSTARTER.. read the disclaimer.. this isn't a store - gib money walk out with stuff. This is a get in at the base level and watch it grow, which I think is awesome.

The BT game will mean more enthusiasm for the universe in general, and that means more potential players for MWO. That is a good thing.

I imagine people that just want a battletech game (regardless of genre) will move to HBS's game. People that want a mech sim will have to stay with MWO. HBS has a proven track record when it comes to releasing solid games. They are working within their means, and (I assume) understand the community they will be working with. Sadly the only thing PGI had going for them when they started MWO was the fact that they were the only company wanting to make a BT game. They didn't realize the community they were getting into or how much work it would take to make a game this size. Combine that with the crap from IGP and well... you all know the rest.

As to the setting, it played a part in my decision for sure. If they announced a darkage game, or with all of the protomechs, etc. I would have said no thanks. I would have backed it if they had clans in there, but I wouldn't have been as excited. 3025 is the best in terms of balance. There's a reason why every tournament and campaign I've ever participated in is 3025 only.

This is great for the franchise.

I backed for 50 dollars.
