Different games, different genres. The only common point is Battletech between the two.

Aside from the BT aspect, MWO is still a damn great shooter and there's nothing like it. Yes balancing is the wound that never heals and Paul is not helping it, but then again this game is so complex that it'll never be fully balanced.

I'll support PGI as long as they support the game. So far, they're doing a good job at keeping it alive with fresh content(Mechs, maps) every few months. I don't care much about Battletech the game to be honest, unless it comes with a sick singleplayer campaign rich of lore and well made characters (though Stackpole's involvement is worrying because I really dislike his writing).

So dramatic. It's a game.. Enjoy it? Great.

If you're too lazy to read the thread here's a short summary...

We're pretty much all bored

Couldn't care less about new mechs

Can't stand the repetitive stompy robot arena that is called gameplay

Lost our **** when we saw the details of Battletech because it actually has a story line and multiplayer functionality

Looking foward to all the great games coming in the near future (FALLOUT!!!)

This thread will be closed shortly because it reflects "badly" on PGI

Want a small bout of depression?

Go look at the (Archive) forums from 2012... and then 2013... and 2014...and this year.

Battletech looks OK but is nothing like this. Honestly looks like I would get bored with the new Battletech game really fast.

Getting away from it is healthy.

Every so often I get into a single player game that draws me away (batman, mgs, etc) and come back to realize how much I love mwo.

100% acknowledging pgi does some braindead stuff, and still mwo is the most fun I have playing video games.

I'm waiting for after the balance pass they intend to implement soon. I 'Hope' it slows down the game a bit and then after that they decide to move on to other things that actually involve depth, you know, the soul of most games that aren't trying to compete with Call of Duty.

Until then, and until I see how the game changes, if it does, my wallet is closed, no matter how much I want the Warhammer.

The sad part is, the entirety of this game, is an addon to most other games. Arena shooter. Add it on so the PvP kids have something to do. At one time, I hoped this game could actually be an MMO, whoa do I feel foolish now.

Well,
I did share some of your sentiments, I've cut back personally a lot on playing time due to a slow down in interest as well as work. However having said that, I've taken the plunge and gotten involved in some of the smaller competitive events. Playing those games with a bunch of friends has been a lot more entertaining than the endless grind of matches.

Can I suggest that if you are that jaded with the game to go take part in one of the many community driven competitions.

My $0.02

Well since the release of battletech on Kickstarter, I have lost a lot of mojo for MWO. I logged in yesterday wanting to finish editing my stalkers but after doing some work in the mech labs I just logged out and said stuff it. Played MGS V. instead. With this Kickstarter looking really good, a good team of game developers and the creator himself on board, I can see my time here on very short strings. The new IIC mechs and marauder, when they announced these mechs I sure was going to buy em. But I couldn't justify buying anymore mechs to play in the same game modes we have now. Credit still for PGI slowly changing things up but I believe for myself future purchases of mechs from me will no longer be done. I do love MWO. I'm a Mech fan. So it goes without saying. But with Fallout 4 in 5 and a bit weeks and other lovely gaming titles my time in MWO would be cut down more than they already are.
Would I support this game financially? No. No more. Would I still play the game. Sure. But in reality. Myself and a lot of you guys who paid alot of money for all these mechs I think for some of us it's time to zip the wallet up until something HUGE changes in this game. And no. I'm not talking balancing. I give 2 sh*ts about that. To me that's just wasting time. Some of you might say it isn't. But I think it is. The amount of time they could of spent on reworking the 3 current modes for puglandia would of been more beneficial to ALL of us as a whole community.
Any how I'm starting to ramble. Sorry if I upset anyone. But I'm one pilot who won't be throwing money to PGI anymore. I'll see some of you guys out on the battlefield.
/emo rant off

Could care less about tabletop, I'm a Mechwarrior, played MW4:Mercs for ~7 years, best game I've ever played. Currently and the foreseeable future MWO is the only Mechwarrior game out where you can jump inside the cockpit in 1st/3rd Person View and a new computer-based tabletop game isn't gonna change that. I'm in it for long haul and my wallet will stay open as long as there is extra money to spend.

If they get multi player I would bet on co-op being added.

If it hasnt been annunced yet its a card they are holding.

I would never look back, or see the light of day, haha!

I read that as "fallout 4 and 5" and went "WHAT HAVE YOU HEARD"
