Look, you don't get to build a company like PGI by being a fool. They might do some foolish things occasionally (don't we all?) but they are not fools. It wouldn't really matter what price they put on these things (within reason) there would be people griping about the price no matter what, that is how aggregate demand works. But they've chosen a price point that they feel maximizes their earnings.

You should also keep in mind that the price of this 'mech will drop to $0 when it's available for c-bills. You're not paying for the 'mech, you're paying for early access to it (except for the Hero, obviously).

Now, I would argue that prices should be set at the point where your marginal cost of production tops out. That is, the point where it costs more to make the next unit of product than it did to make the last one. And since the marginal cost of production for a virtual product is effectively zero, I think that price should be MUCH lower but artificial limits on supply are a fact of life here in the future.

But the fact remains that PGI wouldn't charge it if they couldn't get it. They come out with enough 'mechs and 'mech packages now that if they weren't selling at that high price, they would have lowered them by now.

I think they want WAY to much money for those 'mechs too so I just don't buy them. All you have to do is keep using the 'mechs you have until the thing comes out for c-bills and then all it takes is enough free time to earn the c-bills you need.

The people who run big companies are not fools. If they didn't get that price, they wouldn't charge that price and if no was buying the product, they wouldn't be selling it (no matter how useless YOU think it is).

Warhammer Package? - Done.

Warhammer Hero? - And Done.

:D

Very happy to see this mech come back! It was a particular favorite of mine during my TT years. Thanks PGI for taking a big leap by daring to bring these Unseen (oops, guess we call them "classic" now) favorites to life.

How about fixing game features like the skill tree we were promised would be upgraded during the first week of CLOSED BETA before you ask us for even more money.

I've always loved the Wamhammer. It was my first kill in my PHX-1 in Battledroids. :)

The mech looks awesome, looking forward to using it until my Phoenixhawk shows up.

Noooo, I will have to decide between my MAD and my Whammy ? Need two PCs to play both at the same time now !!!
...had to get both packs anyway.

I hope the Widow will have the second ballistic on shoulder height. This would make for a damn sexy look (similar to the 2x UAC5 Summoner).
Otherwise the hardpoints of the WHM and the MAD are both very similar between the variants, even more so for the WHM

They're actually going to adjust the skill tree either this october or in the next major patch within this year I believe.

It looks absolutely deadly! Love it!

But I'm really not just sure yet. There are just quite a few things that I really don't like about MWO right now that make me hesitate for now (even if the Warhammer is my favourite Mech and I do really like design a lot).

MWO has really turned out too much into a grind and there isn't enough variety in the gameplay just yet to overlook that fact.
The whole thing is made worse by the fact that stoch Mechs are useless (why not follow the communities lead and make an official stock/trial Mech mode).
Too much focus on Mechs and not enough on gameplay.

And lets not even talk about the matchmaker and the balance. I better stop, this has been all said a 1000 times by other.

I'll say no for now (can't believe I'm saying no to a Warhammer, especially to such a good looking one  ).

Happy about the Warhammer and Marauder coming out! BUT PGI, WHY THE SAME EARLY ADOPTER REWARDS for both mechs??

Can you please at least mix up the modules so we get some new ones???

Thanks!

I think 20 dollars for a mech is awsome, and then 15more for bonus. Brought the m+bounty, then this comes out. Im so tempted.

That's assuming everyone who buys a Warhammer bought a Marauder. I'm happy with the current modules !

PGI is on a roll now~!

I'm in for mech pack + hero. $35 well spent.

I'm now waiting for Archer, Crusader, Phoenix Hawk, and maybe the Valkyrie.

i really love the fact that all the oldies and goodies are coming, but does it have to be the expensive one mech packs ? why not a new wave ? 4-8 mechs should be doable.

yet still, did order both whm and mar.

Someone else mentioned it earlier, but it bears repeating:

The modelers, animators, concept, texture people who create these mechs are not the same developers that would be working on something like new game modes or new pilot skill trees. They're often not even the same people who would be involved in making new maps.

These mechs, being offered completely optionally to those who they interest, are in no way preventing progress forward for the overall game... in fact the money they bring in (as the primary revenue source for the title) is what enables those other upgrades and changes to happen.

There's a whole other server running experiments with overall game balancing, there's obviously people continuing to work on the overall game.

IMO these backlash posts aren't productive. Don't buy the mechs you don't want. If you think a mech doesn't offer anything new... ok, go pilot the mech you think it's too close to and move along. You can play this game quite successfully without ever paying a cent.

Clearly there are some players who see a particular mech and feel some attachment to that mech. There are loads of "TAKE MY MONEY!" posts on this thread, and loads of "Ooh! Now I want to see an Archer, or Rifleman, etc" posts.

I understand people might think this is too close to the last mech offering, but really, it's not something that invalidates that other mech. It's not like a new iPhone that makes your recently purchased one obsolete... it's just a different option.

Anyway, just my opinion there. I've been waiting for a Warhammer for a while, and it's awesome IMO to see these classics being brought to us.

Gotta say, not sure how I take this-- Pgi blowing the most-wanted "unseen" card already.

I guess, time line has something to do with it. Maybe It's because they know you are all already investing $$$ in HBS MW game. (I know I am). How could you say no to the ICONIC mech you've begged so hard for?

PGI may be an ok'ish dev (I feel a laser dot on me...), but they are a stellar mech dealer. They know how to sell to this audience.

If Russ ever wanted to start a car-dealership and needed a loan, I might be willing to do it.

Don't like it, doesn't look right. If you're going to do it, do it right and make it look like a Warhammer.

So we get new is mechs to play on the same boring maps , the game needs some content its getting stale and needs new maps and CW needs sorting out because at the moment its running very thin on a purpose to play, I understand that PGI release new mech's as its bread and butter to them but they need to focus on bringing out maps, new idea's ,etc
