you would be correct but the thing is the Clans would use IS mechs... Ghost bear had multiple accounts of using SLDF Kingcrabs and Highlanders which isn't a surprise because if you look at the ghost bears they tend to use battlemechs more then other clans as well as non clan battlemechs...

There is also the orion and atlas II and mentioned regular Atlas which has been used by the clans, famously an Atlas II spotted on Tukayiid 3052. Debatable for the ghost bears if they were forced to use battlemechs due to low availability of omnimechs or clan omnimechs but the Orion and Atlas II was considered a great honour to pilot only fit for the best mechwarrior.

Granted, this isn't common enough to mean clanners should use SLDF mechs BUT the flipside is that ghost bear has more functional kingcrab 000b's then the entire IS in 3050's... it begs the question that should the IS use the Kingcrab (at least some variant) at all either?

ALSO the problem with adding the Warhammer (C) is there is really no need to... really.
We got the hellbringer in the heavy weight class as an omnimech and we got the Warhammer IIC as an assault as a battlemech. if any C mech was to ever occur it would not be the warhammer C...

However, on another topic... you would be true Ed Steel in BT clanners would often field a Clan omnimech instead of an inner sphere battlemech. but in MW: O there are many IS mechs that are superior to some clanners... due to omnitech limitations in MW: O and battlemech freedom. As well as quirks making things more of a nightmare of balance. That and many IS pilots use DHS, Endo, Min maxing, some XL's here and there. many MW: O IS mechs do what a lore timberwolf did and better. So if clanners existed in MW: O they would have dumped all there novas and ice ferrets for hunchbacks and shadowhawks or get more jagermechs then mad dogs and replace the warhawks with awesomes.

It's an awkward debate here. However that is just a point on the aspects of power in MW: O being a lot more different then in BT.

Paying for mech packs is exactly that.

You think the same people who make the mech art is the same who do the map art?
or the same person who manages the packs and sales is the same person who codes a new game mode?

PGI is quite busy with a massive reballance aimming to change role warfare and better ballance in MW: O.
PGI is also busy working away at Community warfare wave 3.0 as well as Steam Release.

PGI is also working on moniters working in a mech as well as new additions to cosmetics to mechs as well as addign the first IS masc mech.

We are also seeing them massively redo maps with caustic valley being in 4 days.

And lots of people is poking russ to have the Warhammer to have that spot light functional.

Indeed. Clans don't waste resources.
All captured IS mechs will end up been piloted by an old, disgraced or freeborn Clan warrior.

I don't know what's going on in the office of PGI or what PGI's plans are.

As far as I can see, their Art Team (especially for the Mechs) is doing a brilliant job. I don't think there is a single Mech in MWO I would call badly designed.
I'm really glad that HBS is picking up the PGI designs for their game.

My concern is the gameplay development. Compared to the Mech development it's crawling.
I just wonder, is their team for gameplay improvements too small?

And for whatever reasons PGI doesn't want to go for easy wins (like Stock Mech Battles or Solaris Maps). But that is way to OT now, sorry.

Anyway, really liking the Warhammer. I hope we'll see some screenshots soon. Also, do they still do some visual tweaks on the special Mechs like they used to for Project Phoenix and the first Clan Pack?

IN PGI, there are people who work on different part of the game, and the biggest retention out there as well as source of income is mechs. People love buying mechs, they do not like however to buy maps and devide the population on who has what maps.

They are working on maps, they have redone River city and Forest colony with Caustic valley coming in 4 days.
They are working on a rebalance to fix problems with the current balancing as well as try to bring out information warfare and such.
They are also working on putting something on those no signal monitors.
They are also working on CW 3.0 that introduces mercs, faction units, and lone wolfs.

They are also removing assault game mode with a new attack/ defend like game mode which involves a union dropship as well as they are modelling an overlord dropship for CW.

Solaris VII maps is probably already done, why is it not in game? because PGI is slowly already working on Solaris VII game mode that will be partly part of CW (because you can dedicate your win to a faction for loyalty points),and also free for all and spectators and weight classes and so on adn on and on, this is planed to come out after CW is finished-ish or at least launched.

Speaking of which ai's have been improved and ai's can now barely turn a mech and such, eventually we will have single player campaign for MW: O and this is also in the works but ai's is being developed first which will help with CW with ai units possibly vehicles like tanks, aerospace fighters, helicopters, etc. Imagine a world an anti aircraft mech like the rifleman or jagermech can shoot down that bomber before the air strike hits or a world where a locust will clear those light armoured vehicles and humvees.

9 energy ,1 ballistic, 2 missile, XL 400, that thing is quite to my liking, 12 hardpoints before any inflations and the AMS...

I kinda tempted to play it stock...

yup yup, not only is it funny, but I never thought I would see any unseen mech in MWO, albeit they tend to look a little different, updated for lack of a better explanation :)

Yaay, Warhammer!

The mech looks AMAZING on the art... hope they trtansfer that mean cockpit into the game..

One question though.. I know this mech was the favored mech of NATASHA KERENSKY, the famous BLACK WIDOW... and the hero mech is named after her..

SO how can it be an IS mech?

IS gets all the cool stuff...

That trailer was for Mechwarrior 5, not MWO.

@Nightshade24

I hope you're right. I really do.
I just can't get rid of the feeling that the only thing that PGI can do really well is Mechs and that all the money that they get for the Mechs, they simply invest in more Mechs (and their salaries and bills of course which is perfectly fine).
It:s catch22 really in a way too. More Mechs bring more balance issues and they deliver the Mechs faster than they can fix the balance.

The slow speed the development of anything but Mechs take is something that's a legitimate concern.
Sadly those discussions can heat up faster than any amount of DHS would help. ;-)

This wasn't even a question. This is my 'mech. This has ALWAYS been my 'mech, even when I could afford bigger rides I would always come back to my Soyhammer (What, like you never personalised your 'mech names?).

Thank you. Now bring on January!

Oh man - so many energy hardpoints !

Gimmi more Lazors boats PGI !

Let's set the map cycling to 50% Terra Therma and the Lazor boating will reduce automatically.

Actually, it wouldn't be even needed.

The easiest thing, what PGI could do, would be to introduce Infernos. They have been in BattleTech for 30 years.

That years old Mektek's mod of MechWarrior 4 had them.

Hell, the 20 years old MechWarrior 2 had Infernos!

I've got every package deal so far, and going to have to say no to this, tired of getting Heavy IS mechs with large CT (where Torso Twist doesnt make a difference) and either they are slow, or have low mounts for weapons, with 0 JJ's.
LOL - there's the Black Knight

Had a realization. Anyone see the boars head intro vid for MWO? Good music following by mech slams. Haven't seen much since like this vid. I think the unseen deserve something like this for community intro. Would be kind of neat.

I am trying hard to imagine that , but I am not convinced they have uncompiled engine source code to do that.
Untill I see 1 (one) MOVING (changing position) target-object (except mechs) my wallet is closed.
