As far as I can tell, depending on it's hitboxes ( more slender ) this looks like an improved cataphract, just with out an ecm and jump variant ( not sure why the 5L JJ one is not there, date limited? ).

Because they make so much money off of hotfixes and Map packs?

Oh right...

Don't recall the stats they gave off the top of my head, but weren't we down to 10% of the original founders only after a year of going to live status? That's just the people that funded the game initially - don't believe they even gave the numbers for how many closed and open beta funders walked away by that time.

How much money do you think poofed because they and IGP decided mech packs as a 95% priority over developing the game?

And no one here thinks they shouldn't make money, but many of us take some issue with the fact that they flood the store and rarely make any actual progress in the game's development. There's a balance needed, and they are heading well away from it and towards the cliff again.

No, it wasn't 10%, it was more like 50%.
And you probably think it only takes a few thousand dollars a month to run MWO... Your idea of what their balance sheet costs is way off. It costs millions of dollars a year to run doing conservative estimates just on number of employees. Mech packs are the number one source of revenue. Revenue that is going to people that are building mechs, fixing bugs, creating maps, etc.
Maybe you haven't noticed we get patches every two weeks for bug fixes and updates? A schedule that is faster than the mech releases? Could the pace be faster, probably. But how do you magically think that is going to happen by *cutting* income? It's an asinine point of view. If you don't want to buy stuff or spend money on the game, fine. But don't try and justify it by some untenable stance.

I think you mean the 3L, which has a MASC system and NO jump jets (there is no 5L Cataphract.). Right now the first Inner Sphere mech with MASC is slated to be the Loyalty Reward Wolverine. We might get the 3L Sometime after the turn of the year, but I wouldn't be completely surprised if it crops up in the gift shop sooner than that.

Well, considering the HBR was based off the WHM as many Clan mechs were in the beginning... I see lore!

As a heads up to those wondering, there will NOT be a working searchlight on the MWO Warhammer:

With the total lack of progress in game development and nothing but bug fixes - this game should have been running squeaky clean 1 year and a half ago at the latest.

You are right though I think. It was 50% of the founders were "logging in" once a month. They weren't spending money - heck most of them weren't even playing more than one match at that point - and all of them plus a fair portion more as well as a good amount of the beta funders left too.

Keep in mind that this is an insane amount of revenue lost from people willing to buy in or fund into a game before it even existed (in the case of the founders) or was remotely ready to go live (in the case of the testers). Let's just throw out a generous number of 10k people that left in the first year.

10k x $40 mech packs is something they will never see.
10k x $20 MC purchases - poofed, no selling those guys camos, mech bays or premium time.
10k x $200 Clan packs.........

Do the math.

This is what they lost by not developing the game out, by ignoring and flat out trolling their playerbase that even made their jobs possible. Its something they won't recover with steam, these players aren't coming back and even if they did they'd see the game still hasn't been developed out and there's no chance they'd spend money on it. And the same something that has them losing more players every month that have actually been funding the game with each-most pack releases in the hopes they do actually put some of that money into developing the game.

Like I said before, nobody here doesn't think they should be making money for the game - but we also don't want to continue to see more and more people leave because very little if of their budget is being put into actually progressing the game itself. Even the current lot of whales is going to dry up quickly without the game starting to progress somewhere other than the store.
