So, Which Do You Think Or Want Is Next? Archer, Or Rifleman?

I'll be good and stay on topic. I'd pick the Archer (or Phoenix Hawk).

And second, i like it's profile. symmetrical LRM points like the Catapult but it's located in the side torsos, so less likely to be shot off. and if i remember, it carries more armor then the Catapult. also it's appearance, like a big Jenner. it's torso is on the front while having forward bent knees. rather unique looking among the heavies. (although this is shared with the rifleman to a degree, and to show the Vultures who's OG)
If i wanted a direct fire support mech, i'd be using the JagerMech, since the Jager was created to be an improvement over the Rifleman. which of course was more of an anti air platform anyway. and to me, it's sleeker appearance is what it has going for it over the Jager. I'd rather take a Crusader before the Rifleman.

well..then I might go against my better judgement.
but if it gets the wimpy gun arms the Jager is currently cursed with.... no thank you.
Twin uac5 should suffice imo. Twin ac10 might work too. 20? Oh dear God.

Anything but another heavy.
With the Marauder and Warhammer, on top of the others, that'll make heavies the most populous weight class in the game. What niche is there in that tonnage range that has been left unfilled at this point? What would another heavy add, other than scratching the nostalgia itch for that particular chassis?
Here's an idea: give us another 20 or 25 tonner, or another 40 tonner. Y'know, something we actually have a shortage of?

As for the mechs, I'd lean towards the Archer because I do like missiles, but...missiles kinda suck to use right now.

missiles work fine in the underhive. In comp tiers both would be DoA with better missiles anyhow, between bad hitboxes (archer. crusader SHOULD have gorilla arms) and lackluster hardpoint placement.
Without redesigning missiles from ground up (have yet to see a good workable plan on the forums for that) any buff that would allow missiles to compete in high level play would make it OP in mid tiers and Kiss of Death for the Underhive.
Few, if any of these Unseen will ever be MetaMechs, so no need IMO, to worry about it.

Rifleman is .. well it depends completely on hardpoint inflation tbh. If it gets a variant with 3E per arm then it would certainly have a serious use as a mid weight energy boat - like a 15 ton heavier BJ-1X, however without that hardpoint inflation it will just be a 5 ton lighter Jagermech. I.e. useless. (60 tons is too light for meaningful ballistic loads without crazy quirks imo. 65 is only barely enough)
I guess id go for Rifleman by preference, since at least its got a decent chance of being good.
Edit: have bought the Marauder as its my favourite mech from TT/Lore, but passed on the Warhammer, because i dont see it being good, except completely bastardised and no longer a Warhammer (Torso MGs = big/medium ballistics, arms empty)

I agree that the balance is terrible. Im in tier 2 and anything besides gauss\vomit is crap
Im not sure what your point is? Do you think It's OK as it is? Or do you think missiles need a complete redesign?
Im at the complete redesign point, because Im assuming as long as you are tier 3+ LRMs and SRMs are a joke.

If I could decide myself. I would like to see the Wasp or the Incubus (just to be nice to the canisters ).
Though it wouldn't surprise me that we'll see quite a few IIC versions of the Unseen Mechs been released now so the Clans don't feel sad.
If I remember correctly, the Rifleman and the Phoenix Hawk have IIC versions as well.

I do feel they need a redesign.
I'm saying I do not recall seeing one single suggestion for doing that that worked.
I'm also saying, that since the Archer and most of the HG Unseen are not going to be comp tier even then, that calling them "DoA" is rather a given. Most have mediocre geometry, low hardpoints, and the japanese LOVE their missiles.
So at the moment, worrying about if they are DoA or not seems somewhat pointless. The tiers they are going to be used in, tiers 3-5, it won't make much difference.
