Like the title says, what are some things you guys have done that on the rare occasion, gets other players to report you?

Today, I'm dropping in my raven with a newbro buddy, trying to get all basiced out. Things are great, we win some, lose some, then get stomped 12-2 by a well put together 8 man. Thats ok, wont happen that badly again hopefully. But no. The very next drop we get "matched" against the very same 8 man! And once again our team is a spattering of small groups placed against an 8 man. Unfortunately I didn't get screenshots, but I think I did a grand total of under 100 damage the first drop. Since we're not masochists, and honestly our presence in 2 ravens (especially my new-to-the-game friend) can't have that big of an effect on a drop (heavywarrior online), we quit out of the match and got into different mechs. Two drops later some guys start giving us **** for DCing, and say they reported us. There was some colorful language thrown at us, but we were basically told we were cowards for not playing (against a team we previosuly lost to, snd will obviously lose to again). Yeah, like anybody actually gets scared playing mechwarrior.

I understand the guys calling us cowards since their butts were most likely sore from being rolled so hard, but I think the DC was justified. Especially considering I never DC, and I don't want my friend to have some of his first experiences to be getting ***** by the same team over and over. I just don't think it's reasonable to ask a player to have to get pounded multiple times in a row by the same group. Just doesn't make sense to me.

But the slight ramble aside, what silly things have you been occasionally reported for in the past? How mad have people gotten at you while informing you that you'd been reported?

If i'm in my dual gauss Yager, I get threats of one every 5 matches or so - but I DO only aim for faces in that thing.

If you exclusively try for headshots, sometimes you get them. Who knew.

The best was a Dire pilot that ranted for about 5 minutes after his death. It was his own stupid fault, he was standing on a hill, throwing Dakka at everything, and barely moving. KERBLAMMO. I dropped against the same guy in my next match, and my very first shot of the game splattered his dire brains all over the dire floor. His salt was glorious.

Edit: as to your thread, i'd probably have reported you for that too. The impact 2 dc's makes, even lights, even n00b lights, is huge. It means the enemy have 2 less targets to divide their attention and soak their fire. It means your team has to do far more damage. It means that all the targets you could have scouted and painted for your allies are a hypothetical situation.

Don't underestimate your contribution to battle, and don't underestimate the effect your DC has on your team.

Thanks! I admit I forgot to put the TL;DR at the bottom, but you forgot to put the actual topic! Do a little better next time if you're gonna take my job!

And guys, its cool that I got reported, don't hate the player, hate the game. Its understandable I was reported, I was just telling my story.

Kiiyor, I wish there was chat history so I could see that Direwolf rant after getting headshotted twice haha

Oh, it was spectacularly vile. At one stage he mentioned that he knew someone at PGI and wouldn't be surprised if I was banned before the match finished.

Didn't help that I baited him either. A lot.

"Well, in my defence, your face WAS facing me."
"Maybe you should take more head armour?"
"I'm not sure what your beef with me is, can you sum it up again please?"

I think i can understand your reasons to DC - but long story short story -
DC / suiciding / hiding without participating in a battle is against the CoC - and could cause a report.

If it was for the first time - don't care. People are pissed off about DC tanks to this Territorial Event.
Even if you know that you will loose - you have to proof it (although when you think you can't win - you won't win, no matter the odds)

You shouldn't disconnect like that, even if you know you're going to lose. Watching how the top players do things can help your performance a lot, think of what are they doing differently?

Never been taken action due to matches. I did manage to report and get one guy banned though. That guy from Kong was a real douche.

Never got reported so far, but I reported two guys.

One for attacking me simply for making a joke in team chat (he got temp-banned for a few days).
The other one yesterday for CONSTANTLY saying "I like ponies" and cluttering the mini map with useless orders, which is a violation of the code of conduct (harassing). Note: I didn't say his name in here ... *grin*.

I get reported from time to time for head shotting people in my JR7-F after I get legged. I mean... I've got 30 points of pew pew and I'm gonna die anyways... why wouldn't I take that extra tenth of a second to line up one last ditch effort to take them with me?

Female friend was feeling sad because of personal problems, decided to take her Urbie to a ride on my Stalker just for fun.

Posted Image

Then, while doing this again with her Kit Fox on Crimson Straight, we managed to take out 5 enemies - my Stalker is a beast, with or without a hat - and they got pissed and started spamming "Reported" and "We are recording enjoy your ban".
Decided to take another look on the ToS, says nothing about doing this, meh.

I don't think I've ever been reported for anything. Salty language would be my only potential issue I think. I had one frustrating in game accusation, way back, right after Terrible Therma was introduced. Was one of my first handful of matches there and I was in an Atlas DDC, and someone accused me of purposeful friendly fire, when I had not fired a single shot. I even asked, With what? They claimed ACs, which was crazy since all my ammunition was still untouched. I felt like Scotty in Star Trek 6. Several of them stripped me of most of my armor despite my protests. I just shut down and took it, and hoped someone would die and spectate and back me up... Then we got rolled and I had to power up and engage... And die horribly since my armor was now wet cardboard. Still one of the strangest experiences I've had. No idea what the deal was or if it was just some weird griefing or if someone else had FF'd and gotten away with it.

Edit: Me fail English? That unpossible.

There was a 'update' to include piggy-backing as a violation.
