Massive Fps Drop After Hotfix

This continued for the remainder of the match, with other player commenting about the loss of fps or really bad lag as they put it.
Any idea what might be causing it or have you had the same issue?

Was I in that match? I made a comment about 4fps bug at the end.
Cause yeah, I ran repair tool before I logged into the game at all. First, I patched. then I started it again to get the hotfix. then I ran repair tool. Then I logged in, and yeah mega FPS drop chopped all to hell.
NA server, if that makes any diff. Seriously, I havent had anything like that since beta when we used to get that frame killer bug. It wasnt 4 lol, but it was waaaaay down, I average 60, ut was too busy fighting to check FPS when it happened, as we were making a comeback from a 4-0 start(ended 12-9 or something like that, laggy FS9 had the run of things at the end)

I noticed my graphic card didn't seam to work much at all, as if it was not accelerating graphics, since the fan worked at typical desktop speed the whole match.
EDIT: BTW it is intermittent, most matches will work just fine. BUt in some rare matches fps drops hugely for everyone on it.

First time EVER i have had that happen in a game -- and to have the whole match experience it = PGI did something in the last patch that had unintended consequences.
Sent an e-mail ticket to support@mwomercs.com -- suggest you others do so as well.

Since it feels like you are implying that we are all running toasters:
Liquid cooled AMD FX-9590 overclocked @ 5.2 Ghz
2 Liquid Cooled AMD R9 290X GPUs
64 GB of RAM (Liquid cooled)
Windows 7 64-bit running on a stripe-set of 2 intel SATA III SSDs
The game running 64-bit using DX11 with custom settings (most set to low)
^---- not a toaster. There is a bug in the game somewhere, introduced last patch and running the repair tool doesn't help -- its occurrence appears random to me. I just checked process lasso logs from that time and my GPU was barely above 5% use and my CPU usage was pretty consistent at 40%

Intel i5-4690K, all cores running at 3.9GHz.
ASUS Maximus VII Gene
16GB Corsair Vengeance 1600 CL9 RAM
Zotac GTX 980
Crucial MX100 512GB SSD
Acer XB270H Abprz 27" 1920x1080 144 Hz G-Sync monitor
Win10 Pro
Newest non-beta drivers for everything
Game settings: 1920x1080, full screen, highest settings, DX11 mode.
I run the repair tool after every patch and hot fix.
Most maps run at 140+ FPS when not in combat. Some maps do 90+. Of course, all maps have spots where you look and FPS goes down to 60 or so. Close-range combat brings it down to 40-60 FPS.
My ping is normally around 40, increasing to 70-90 during peak hours. I use the NA servers exclusively.
I've been playing since August 2012, and this is the first time I've had a slide-show experience in MWO. It's not my system -- it was something with the game, introduced with the hot-fix. It happened just that one time on Bog, and hasn't happened since.

Yup, seems like a memory leak.

Basic info needed when you're discussing FPS issues, but you're entitled to your asumptions.

There is a big difference between chronic FPS problems and a one-time/first-time event. If the only thing that changed was an update/hot-fix and suddenly you have problems, then something introduced in the update/hot-fix is the cause.
