What Else Does Pgi Need Before Steam Release?

1. Tutorial - The new one seems to be good enough and they can add more later.
2. Better balance - They seem to be attempting this. We should have a new balance test soon.
3. Servers for different parts of the world. - In place. (Yes always room to get better.)
4. Ramp up server capacity. I would think they would do this close to when they go on Steam to save money.
5. Making CW work better. Is this something that needs done before Steam release?
7. Better group match making. Seems to be something they are working on now.
These seem to be the basics and they seem to be trying to get all of these things in order in the near future.

Also a halfway intelligent asymmetrical IS vs Clan balance (superior tactical options vs. superior tech) without math-failing 300% DPS quirks.
And a pilot skill rating that actually rates pilot skill (win contribution) would be nice.

And, as someone has mentioned, the chat needs to be fixed.
If we could squeeze some quality of life stuff in there (decals, cockpit monitors etc) it would be pretty awesome too.

1) Balance
>> remove the quirk system
>> return PPC projectile speed back to its faster self; lower effective range of ER-PPC from 810m to 690m
>> retain IS 'Mech access to modules and consumables
>> remove Clan 'Mech access to modules and consumables
>> enact either a Battle Value or C-Bill system to keep "low-performing" 'Mechs in the game
>> increase DPS for MG and Flamer to 2; or 0.2 per shot
2) Community Warfare
>> offer an incentive to play CW
>> create some difference (doesn't have to be big) between factions so that choosing a faction is strategic and not merely based on which faction you like best (for MW lore fans)
3) In-Game Add Friends Feature - the only thing I would add before the launch on steam would be an option to add friends mid-game or post-game. You ever come across some pugs that are actually good and communicate? Great, add them up and play your next game NOT alone.
4) Lower Prices
>> people WILL buy if they feel they get value for their buck. Charging $40 for a Clan 'Mech will NOT generate revenue. PGI is beginning to get this, but STILL needs to lower prices further.

I don't really notice it anymore, I'm inured to it after years of them being useless.
But every single person I introduce to this game goes "What the hell are all these black screens and why don't they work, they look terrible."
There are a lot of small things like that in this game that detract from the overall experience that we're just numb to. And honestly, I don't think new players right away are going to go "OMG the MG only does .8 DPS!? It should do at least 1.2!" I think they're going to notice all the superficial flaws first and get driven away before they find the real problems in the game. The cockpit screens are just one symptom.

Especially not the high-tech clan cockpits.
It's so ridiculous...

- CW phase 3 (=max3 mins waiting time, otherwise steam users say GTFO with this s**t)
- customizable garage
- detailed information, what is what
- updated webpage (how long are clan mechs up ?) none on web details.

This will allow them to spend money fixing it up, "making it theirs", and give them some form of investment in the game. I believe that this will motivate them to progress, and possibly even drop some cash into the game sooner

And then seriously get back to work on CW.

Agreed except for #1. The issues with BV or Asymmetrical balance is the cannon fodder conundrum. Players don't play stompy robbit games to be cannon fodder, and quirks not only help Clan vs IS balance, but internal balance as well.
To put it in the great words of fuppyduppy

Now it has changed to this:
"This mech will be bad without big quirks."
"This mech will be good."

1) better balance. if theyre going to balance IS and clan 1:1 then the weapons need to be equal and the CXL and ISXL need to be equal. otherwise 1:1 isnt going to work.
2) total skill/module revamp to give players more "options" in how they want to specialize their mechs/pilotskills. the system we have now is absolutely terrible. it evokes absolutely zero player choice. even the modules are obvious choices.
3) fix regular matches/CW. make all gamemodes/matches count for CW. fix CW matchmaker so it prevents large groups from ever playing against pugs (large groups should only play other large groups). add a new union dropship defense gamemode. offer better rewards in general for regular matches/CW.
