Guess that is fine. Though I would like to know if we get notified a week or so ahead of the event?

I think that would help to tell people about it in the game (after all very few read the forums) and try to get them excited.

Nice to see some attention on the CW front - a little water and sunlight everyday goes a long way to growing the garden.

In that spirit I will contribute the following: Wolf Vrs Falcon - you know this showdown has to happen.

FRR Vrs Wolf, Bear and the Jaguar. FRR needs to recover lost territory and in recent weeks they have been mobilizing and training the necessary troop numbers to do so. Perhaps now is a good time to put this progress to the test.

Single day assignments are not going to be enough, starting and building upon the momentum of the thing - a sustained approach is needed for real results.

Definitely would be great to see some Davion vs kurita and/or Liao, Liao vs Davion and or marik, marik vs Liao and/ Steiner. Those were where a lot of the action was in lore even after the clans, and even during the Jihad era where WoB worked those old rivalries and fear of invasion against their enemies. Obviously we got a major following for wolf vs falcon - in fact since we had Tukayyid not that long ago (relatively speaking), a Refusal War event, in my opinion would also be something nice to see as well. Time that with a major kurita vs jaguar event shortly after and even with MWO diverging from mainstream CBT time lines and lore, we could still kind of follow along.

Just my thoughts tho. Feel free to discuss amongst yourselves.

I'm sorry but anyone saying there is ANY grudge between Liao and anyone else is thinking of the tabletop and not of this game. The loyalists of Liao have a bigger grudge against each other than anyone else. You would need a Liao civil war event before you could let them face a real faction. This way you could implement a bandit kingdom below Liao to give them a regular third faction to attack and a feeder for lone wolfs, definitely bringing a lot of action into CW ..

I would also vote for Steiner vs. CJF.

The best CW battles I have had were against Steiner units like Tamar Jäger (?), 12DG and the infamous Steiner allstars.

and the winners are....

Falcon / Wolf PUGS and a vast majority of their units are by far the worst in the entire game. If Wolf pulls this one off it will be with numbers not skill.

Kurita / This one could really go either way... I'll give the edge Kurita considering SmokeJags recent inactivity

Davion / I would have called this one a toss up a few months back when Liao actually had a population. Now it seems like Davion is fielding better units while Liao has almost none. Out of the back 3 houses (no clan borders) Davion is clearly the strongest.

Steiner / They win this by default considering there is no one in Mark to fight. While I am kind of on the fence about this match up being an actual "grudge". There was some bad blood there early on in Beta1

FRR / Both factions have decent units but lets be honest the Bear has been a shadow of its former self since Beta2



Honestly it would be interesting to have the factions bid for Mercs to spice things up a bit.

I though MS was kinda a joke group. True they have some good players, but I always thought they just won battles through sheer numbers. PGI would be better off with Night's Scorn or 228.

Steiner vs Marik is big in lore, but in CW Steiner really didn't want to fight Marik, they would rather fight the Clans. Getting a match with Steiner really felt like a puppy trying to get an old dog to play with him.

Kurita VS Davion!

On another note, these events are typically over in the US timeslot OR are unsuccessful. Pretty much excludes oceanic and EU players. They need to persist through all the timezones.

Double sided events would also be better - instead of all the mercenaries choosing the same side, they can divide between the two and balance the population.
