I have a legendary founder's pack and I still haven't been chosen to receive a beta key, so I don't think that they judge who gets what by their founder's pack.

Even so, there's thousands of people with the founder's packs and so few beta keys. So you're not alone being tortured by the Pending button. Yeah it sucks, but I guess we are all in the this waiting game together.

Pretty sure it's random like many of the rest. I've gotten beta invites to games/companies I would never dream of supporting (like EA with its SW:TOR, and Vivendi with its Diablo 3).

Picking from the founders first is something that has not started happing yet as it starts with closed beta 2 which, invites for are going out starting on the 10th of july.

They did a invite of about 500 more people when founders pack released about a week ago but they did it randomly and just give it too the high dollar package. I know it stinks but a lot of us are on the same boat. I find myself checking everyday.

Couple of reasons I guess.

First, if people have gone to the extent of dropping some cash for a pre-purchase, then it's likely that if the key gets sent out people are actually going to use it.

Second, if you were Piranha, why wouldn't you reward customers who have given you some cash as opposed to those who have not?

Well they gave away 10,000 beta keys randomly did they not? Sadly I wasn't here when they did. I saw the June 28th key giveaway but just noticed that I did not get picked for the July 2nd giveaway. Now I have an extra sad pending face. Hopefully I'll get a little luckier on the 10th!

Remember that they do want to make some money off this game. Let's say 500 people are convinced to finally get a key based on the idea that they might get in early (Aug 7th at the latest). That's an extra $15,000-60,000 they can use to get more servers and get more people playing early. More testers = more bugs found = better game overall.

It also prevents someone from making 50 accounts and trying to get multiple keys to sell on Ebay. This really I think is the most important part.

Pity it's technically incorrect as the Soviet Union no longer exists , having been dissolved in 1991 and replaced by the Russian Federation. But hey, it's still a chuckle from an historical perspective
