*edit* Wolfhound screenshots are up, its looking good! Very fitting look for an IS mech. :)

And as expected, it is in a pretty sweet spot for a humanoid Light. Even smaller than the Firestarter. Coupled with its slim waist, it is gonna be pretty durable even without JJs. And loss of arms from shielding will not matter as much due to abundant torsi mounts. In fact, its arms will most likely fall off first thanks to blocky shoulders.

*edit* Wolfhound cockpit is up!

scale is good, jutting upper torso to shoulder ratio is not.

And in general, it looks like crap.

Meh.

It's as small as a Spider and it'll zombie like a boss. As a 65-80 ton preferred driver, I hate it already.

zombie..... yeah. I can't wait to watch that. Zombie means a blockier, non jumping std engine spider pew pewing with it's remaining 2 MLs..... much sacred!

It's going to have good hit-boxes and armor quirks to cover it's jump jet weakness.

All in a going to be a solid mech with a possibility to tackle the arctic cheetah if quirked appropriately.

(Trust me, tell me that the hard-point location and it's hit-boxes aren't good)

Eh, you can mount a STD280 and 4 or 5ML easily enough. Gives you the same speed as a cheeto... similar durability, and way WAY less firepower. But it'll be entertaining

Still loving it. The majority of this playerbase didnt exactly salivate over this thing from announcement, seems like they're picking anything to cry about at this point. Tiny with great hardpoint placement and the best 35 ton speed till the Jenner iic in dec (and this ought to be a helluva lot tankier)

And you are basing the hitboxes off what, Derek? Seriously? That upper torso is HUGE and the shoulders provide ZERO protection.

So slower than Cheetos and FS9s, can't jump, probably sorry hitboxes and less firepower?

And looks stupid to boot?

Sounds like the recipe for a winner to me, lol!

Stop being so dramatic, Bishop. From the front it has less torso size than the Firestarter, and from the sides it can easily spread non-FLD damage due to its speed. And the arms do offer decent protection from the sides, unlike the Jenner. Now Jenner arms offer zero protection.

Come on, it's far from that bad.

That guy is already tiny with a small profil and could easyly be a new kind of spider!

size is good, proportions are not. And the FS9 shoulders are way better.

And it still looks like crap.

It's funny...usually it's Bandito being the grump, and me white knighting.

I see little to get excited over this thing, sorry.

Even if it is decent from a quirks/game mechanics perspective, it is still really ugly...I have a hard time getting excited to play ugly mechs :(

As if people play in 3rd person view. Cockpit view is what matters, and the Wolfhound got pretty open view port.
I love my Battlemasters, but I would take more open cockpit over outer aesthetics, any given day.

A few commenst on how ugly it is but I cant see that. Thats a great looking light mech. Its tight with little to nothing extra. Safe bet it will be a solid Inner Sphere light mech.

@_@ Dude, Derek's a mod... careful.

But yes, sad the Wolfhound is what it is... and if this is the quality of the mechs being churned out now, I'm kinda horrified how they're going to treat the Warhammer and Marauder... let alone the IIC's...

Oh well, writing's been on the wall for a while...
