I can't remember the last time i saw Bishop so salty about something.
The amount of salt is disproportionately huge, when compared to the quality of the model.

Am i the only one who thinks that the Wolfhound doesn't look that bad? I mean, it's pretty close to what it was supposed to look like, going by the orthos and the concept art.
The only thing i have a gripe with is the dynamic weapon geometry, which is a problem for the vast majority of the mechs in the bloody game.

... and looks good to me!

Side torsos might be little more fragile than we're used to from other 35t humanoid IS lights, but still no deal breaker (I believe).

All in all I like the 'older' look of this mech.

Cockpit might be a little ShadowHawkish, but I never minded that for the hawk either.

I'm going to have fun with my wolvies.
A thing going 140-160 kph and 5-6 energy hardpoints cannot be bad.

What it is bad is how pgi modeler has made it. VEry ugly, blocky, legoland.
Also the shoulders are too much wide.

It is strange to read Bishop's posts about it, also because he always hated DOA threads :D

And you are basing the hitboxes off what, Derek? Seriously? That upper torso is HUGE and the shoulders provide ZERO protection.

Thing you jumped the gun Bishop, we haven't seen a mech look like this.

the upper torso is quite small, compare it to the panther.

Trust me it's going to be hard hitting that one variant that can go 160 KPH.

@_@ Dude, Derek's a mod... careful.

But yes, sad the Wolfhound is what it is... and if this is the quality of the mechs being churned out now, I'm kinda horrified how they're going to treat the Warhammer and Marauder... let alone the IIC's...

Oh well, writing's been on the wall for a while...

Bishop's going to get no flak from me so long as he doesn't violate the CoC.

As for orgins IIC, only ugly one out of the bunch is the highlander IIC. it's one ugly so of a *****

Warhammer, Marauder?

I don't even know at all yet...

size is good, proportions are not. And the FS9 shoulders are way better.

And it still looks like crap.

It's funny...usually it's Bandito being the grump, and me white knighting.

I see little to get excited over this thing, sorry.

Cooommmppletly excited. Maybe you should take a break. :P

I expcted at first a Wolfhound a bit like the MW4 but I kinda like the one currently showed. More simplistic, closer to the true original. And damn, theses littles ears!

The Hiuglander IIC looks like the big fat brother of Shockwave from transformers.
The hunchback IIC.... Damn it... Can someone fap to a machine? :P

am I missing something or did they change the head of the wolfhound back to what it was when everyone made a big deal out of it on the forums? the head really doesn't look like the 'revised' concept art, it went back to boxy.

they haven't made a light mech that I would replace my Spider 5D with, especially a non-jumping mech. 'ill probably never wind up using it, unless PGI implements a random stock drop modifier for stock games!

No explanation to as why its "ugly" of the critism. I say its just as good looking as the rest of them. I bet all mechs could get a chance to be prettier. But mechs in general are WAR MACHINES. Something tells me this hound are gonna be a good light brawler and skirmisher which bites hard.

IMO, it's just another light for the already saturated 35t bracket.

FS9, JR7, PNT, RVN, did we need yet another IS 35t chassis?

I agree on this general point. As the unseen "are" no longer, here's hoping the Stinger or Wasp is next. (Or even better, a Stinger+Wasp "two for one" pack.)

Agreed.
We didn't need the crab either. We have a bunch of 50 tonners already (including energy only ones).

We needed 40 tonners (currently only 1 in the entire game), like the Vulcan and the Assassin ( and Viper for the Clammers.)

More seriously, I agree. We definitly need some other bracket of light.
Hornet maybe? A 20ton mech
http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Hornet

Or the mercury (since the Crab was also "extinct" and only showed after Comstar showed there army). Heck, even the piranha

Yes, I know Derek is a mod, and he doesn't appear to abuse that. I'm not insulting, derogatory, etc. I am disagreeing. You are allowed to disagree with Mods.

the WH is a good model, but does it look like a WH is another thing!, had the same problem with the Atlas its a nice looking model, but it doesn't look right to me imho. prefer to see something like this concept..to each his own I guess. Posted Image
