Upcoming Patch - Tuesday, October 20th @ 10AM – 1PM PDT
Patch Number: 1.4.28
Patch size: ~150MB

Greetings MechWarriors,

The fourth and final Resistance 2 'Mech is now being delivered to all eligible pilots, along with all remaining Resistance 2 items.
House Steiner and TharHes Industries have graciously provided all pertinent details regarding the design specifications of the Wolfhound Light 'Mech to all Great Houses of the Inner Sphere. While the availability of this 'Mech is a boon to all of those who fight against the Clan Invasion, Steiner pilots will have the unique benefit of momentary amusement when chancing to see their Wolfhound take to the battlefield in the colors and standard of another House whose prior battlefield experiences with the chassis may not be as positive.
As with all other Resistance 2 'Mechs, the Wolfhound is releasing with full standard Pattern functionality.

To mark the full release of all the remaining Resistance 2 content, the Blood Pact has been sealed. The rewards from that Pact are being delivered to all eligible pilots in this patch.

This patch features the release of our newly redesigned Camo Spec screen, featuring aesthetic and organizational changes to greatly improve the process of customizing the visual appearance of your 'Mech.

Players now have access to a contextual menu within the pre-match, in-match (TAB), and post-match Scoreboard screens. This context menu can be used to send a Friend invite, Block or Unblock another player, or report another player for misconduct.

Preliminary value changes to Group Tonnage rules are rolling out in this patch, and changes have been made from the values initially listed in the October 20th Road Map. This system has been designed to allow for on-the-fly adjustments without the necessity for server downtime, so these values can be adjusted based on your feedback and the metrics of the matchmaking system.

Rounding out this patch we have an array of fixes and general changes, including a critical fix for the severe performance issues that could affect multiple players a match whenever a NVA-D (L) was destroyed, the restoration of O-Gen health bars in Community Warfare, fixes for the new Caustic Valley, various fixes and changes for MechWarrior Academy, and much more.

Read on for all the details, and we'll see you on the battlefield!

- The MechWarrior Team

Change Log

New Camo Spec Screen

This patch sees the release of our newly redesigned Camo Spec screen, featuring aesthetic and organizational changes to greatly improve the process of customizing the visual appearance of your 'Mech.

Aside from the standard Filter options for 'All' and 'Owned' we have added a third 'Sale' filter for displaying only whichever Patterns and Colors may be on sale at the time.

Patterns

Patterns can now be previewed on your current 'Mech simply by hovering over the Pattern of your choice. Double-clicking a Pattern will apply that Pattern to the 'Mech, allowing you to make any additional customization changes prior to finalizing your selections.

You can view the currently applied Pattern, reset to the last saved Pattern, or restore your 'Mech to its default Pattern.

Colors

As with Patterns, Colors can now be previewed by hovering over the Color or your choice. Double-clicking a Color will apply that Color to whichever channel you have selected, allowing you to make any additional customization changes prior to finalizing your selections.

You can view all currently applied Colors for each channel, reset to the last saved Color for each individual channel, or restore the default Color for each individual channel.

Decals

You will also notice the addition of a Decals button to the new Came Spec Warehouse. Please note that Decals are not yet supported! The new Camo Spec screen was designed with a future Decal system in mind; we are simply paving the way for that feature in a future update.

In-Game Player Context Menu

Players now have access to a contextual menu within the pre-match, in-match (TAB), and post-match Scoreboard screens. Left-clicking on a player name in the Scoreboard will reveal a menu with the following main options:

Send Friend Invite
Block Player (or Unblock Player, when applicable)
Report Player

Highlighting the Report Player option will reveal a sub-window listing the available reporting categories:

Inappropriate Name

Chat Abuse

Harassing/Language
Spamming/Advertising
Nonconstructive

VoIP Abuse

Harassing/Language
Spamming/Advertising
Nonconstructive

Griefing

Team Damage
Team Killing
Assisting the Enemy

Nonparticipation

Suiciding
AFK
Disconnecting

Cheating

Cheating
Exploiting

There is no confirmation window or text entry field for providing additional details concerning your report. Simply select the report reason and the report will be automatically delivered to Support services. In some cases you may receive a follow-up e-mail from Support services if they require any additional information regarding your report.
After submitting a report a text notice will appear in the standard chat field that will confirm for you that the report has been sent. That notice is visible only to you.

Under the current implementation you are limited to sending 5 reports in total per day. When you have reached your report limit for the day any subsequent report attempts will prompt a message in the standard chat field informing you that you have reached your limit for the day. That notice is visible only to you.

New Group Queue Tonnage Values

The values of the new Group Tonnage system can be tuned on the live servers without the need for patches or downtime, so we can make quick changes as necessary with minimal fuss. This is an important aspect of this system, as we want it to be able to react to your feedback and metrics as the new system plays out in the wild.

With these changes to the Group matchmaking system you will be creating your groups based on a minimum/maximum tonnage indicator instead of the traditional weight class restrictions. This is designed to try and keep as much flexibility in your hands as possible, but also as a means to try to provide teams that may be comprised of a few separate groups extra tonnage to compensate versus an opposing team that may be comprised of just one or two large groups.

New 'Mechs:

The fourth and final Resistance 2 'Mech is now available in-game for eligible Resistance 2 owners.

Pictured variant: WLF-2 (with Steiner Faction Pattern)

Wolfhound (Light)

Designed and built by TharHes Industries at the behest of House Steiner specifically as a counter to the Panther and Jenner 'Mechs of House Kurita, the Wolfhound proved its value on the battlefields of the Inner Sphere during the Fourth Succession War. Equipped with sufficient weaponry to safely engage at-range, and with enough armor and speed to close the distance, the Wolfhound was able to distinguish itself as an effective counter against what was arguably the most potent combination of Light 'Mechs the Inner Sphere had ever seen at that time.

As an all-laser 'Mech with sufficient speed and armor to hound its opponents and escape intact, the Wolfhound will prove itself an excellent addition to the DropShips of the Inner Sphere.

Release date for MC: November 17th 2015

I propose again this feature, last time it got lots of "like" and many people were interested.
Minimap upgrade in the "Drop Preparation" screen with bases, cap points and lances position like in the examples below:
Posted Image

I make an apposite discussion too here: http://mwomercs.com/...ap-improvement/

Comments, suggestions, "like" or simply "hello" are welcome in order to get more visibility to this improvement.

Waiting for a PGI reply too, that will be really appreciated.

Thank you.

Regard the patch: good change here, finally a new camo spec screen with a palette colors, and I finally use House patterns in my Maulers too. Appreciated.

I can't believe you put that tonnage crap in for group queue. Even a group of two can't bring what they want? Pure nonsense.

Great, public group drop weight restrictions. Who was the moron who thought that would be a good idea? Matchmaking isn't/wasn't perfect, but it was good enough. It can't be perfect because people and teamwork are variables that will always create exceptions.

Is this to promote the use of more mediums and heavies? That's the only effect it will have, other than annoy people who want to take really heavy and very light mechs in matches with their friends.

Should just leave matchmaker alone, with the exception of letting solo players opt in to fill out teams, which will help with group recruitment and friend-making.

Yep, BloodPact deal was way back in August, accompanied with an event. It wasn't a retroactive reward or something gained for having eventually gotten the top packs, it was more and early, early adopter reward for those with R1+R2.

They must have a content surprise in store for December, because this many months with no real new content added is just abnormal for them. Map upgrades are not new content before anyone wants to claim they are...hope that's the case, 4v4 CW was talked about what...Feb of this year or something?

Aw man, you guys didn't even try to put the group tonnage limit in the PTS. I hope it works out but I am a little concerned about the minimum limit. Not to mention the spike of heavy mechs we are bound to see in certain groups.

What you ignorantly call tears I call justified frustration. There are better options for fixing wait times and match making than annoying people who just want to play the damn game with their friends and with the mechs they enjoy and/or paid for. Lets say I and another friend both bought the Mauler pack and wanted to play together with our Maulers when they came out. Nope sorry can't do that your options are to play solo or not use the mech you just received and paid real money for. Pretty sh*tty system.

if you in close future to play alone and with the last setting with 6 of one class leaded to 6 nice king craps walking through the field...

i guess, there is just no one doing something, because no one is left to do something... so there won't be anything except the IIC machines
