If you want an experienced MRBC droplead to help you prepare for the drops PGI, then give me a PM. We are not participating right now so we are neutral.
At the very least it will help against your mechlab catastrophes.....

All member of DudesClub were exited as soon as the league's divisions were announced and we got paired against you. Hopefull this gives you another grasp of a different kind of play style in competetive matches.
Thank you all for the drops and better luck next time!

Many of us are decent individual performers, but we definitely need to work on our coordination as a team.

Now for the bad part. You guys have a lot of work to do if you want to make any of these matches even remotely close. Your problems start in the mechlab. The mechs and builds (from the few cockpit views we got) are basically losing you the match before it even begins. I'd advise either taking up some of the offers to help build drop decks, or at the very least looking at Gman's competitive tier list on metamechs.com. Building a comp mech is different from building a PUG mech. There is no use for a generalist in comp. Mech's are built with a very specific purpose in mind, usually a dropdeck has very strong synergy at a particular range bracket that fits the planned strategy for the match.
As far as strategy itself, you guys played so passively that there wasn't much strategy at all. I'm not sure if it was because you were afraid to make mistakes or what, but as a general rule, you'll do better and kill more mechs (and get more cbills in MRBC) if you play agressive. Even if you lose, you'll at least score some points. Aggressive mistakes are better for learning than passive ones.

Yup. thats one of the main points which needs to be addressed together with
- a harmonised mech selection (as well as loadout) throughout the team - No point in mixing ranges if your opponent is all out brawling or sniping (Oh yes... and deffinitely keep LRMS out of any competitive dropdeck unless you are using Clan LRMs and you are 100% sure that you have Godlike skills in positioning, blind firing short ranged defence and can countering any ECM... so probably still a no to LRMs)
- knowledge of the usual fighting positions (In organised league battles, these are quite often very different to the PUG queue positions)
- harmonised targeting instructions thorughout the team (Everyone shooting not only the same target, but the same section such as legs or left torso). Even if everyone is shooting the same target, it is useless if everyone is going for a different section. The time to kill per mech increases exponentially and the longer your target is alive, the longer you will take damage.
- movement as a team (dont split up to move around an obstacle, shear out further, so that you have at least space next to you for a teammate to pass [if possible on both sides], dont walk though the middle of a narrow section)
- Your top most priority should be make sure that your team has a target caller and an order of replacements if your target caller is killed. The target caller does not even have to be the same person who calls team movement and placement. It is quite often also an advantage if you have one player coordinating the movement of the team and another who calls targets, as this splits up and speeds up the decision making in fast fights. Doing either of this out of a light mech is also an added challenge, as piloting a light alone takes much more concentration than other weight classes (due to the speed and needing to protect your very limited armour)
