Nope.
Turn all to low except obj.details and texture to high/max

Sad but true. PGI should just lock the settings and force everyone to deal with whatever they think the game should look like.

Also highly recommended to adjust your build in (hardware) monitor settings, like brightness, gamma, contrast, color temp, etc.

This is also why I am happy to play at low tiers. I can play it with all the pretty features turned on that my system can handle (High across the board on most maps) and still get 30-50fps and not worry about the people so gung ho for winning that they play in this manner. That's Tier 1/2 thinking. If that's the way you want to play, go and do it. You'll get there soon enough once you adopt meta tactics and builds.
I'd rather have a beautiful experience... as my videos show.

Hard to do that since you can override some settings with the user.cfg.
Because PGI allied us access to that. They could also lock it (like they did with FoV, etc, now), and declare tampering with it a breech of CoC.
Then everyone had the same visual limitations, and no competitive edge
But we all know comps love crutches.
Use any excuse to simplify the games so they can make it as generic a point and click shooter as possible

LOL, good luck with that one.
Do you know how many people play games like this on their potato getting 10 FPS?
Whether you have a high end rig or play on a potato, you still have a wallet.
And that's all they ultimately care about.

You seem to forget those running on not-so-optimal machines that need to lower their settings to be able to play.
Also locked graphics options on a PC game? Yeah, it's gona get torn a new one for it.

Still, locking in graphics options is a terribad idea.
Might as well play on a console at that point.
Not if we want to enjoy how things look. Sometimes folks must be force fed the bitter creme to get them to drink it.

It is simple--tell people it isn't for a potato. The iron fist is strangely effective. I doubt people will not play this game because it does not work on their potato. The playerbase, as small as it is, most likely is not full of filthy casuals with 80386 computers.
(though I have some in my basement I retrogame on)

I'd rather be in low tiers too, I hate the over abundance of crutch mechs in the upper tiers. But I'm proof tiers mean nothing anyway. Playing MWO less than 3 months and now almost half way to tier 1, with no clan mechs in my stable and play plenty of fun builds, unless my purpose is farming cbills for new mechs to level. But I still want to have fun and do as well as I can, and being vision impaired by the game itself makes having fun and doing well a lot more difficult.
Being hit by a barrage of AC's with graphics down is bad enough with the screen shake. Try it with everything up and you can't see a thing except explosions.

Thanks. I've fiddled with the settings in MWO and on the screen and it looks a bit better now.. Will give it a whirl tomorrow and hope I play a bit better. I play on a samsung 40 inch 1080 tv, so it's probably not as crisp and the colours won't be as good as a quality pc monitor, so that is probably making it worse.

You are literally talking out of your bum bum at this point bud.
This game is F2P, it's balanced around the lowest common denominator.

Are you seriously reading what you're saying?
You're talking about "force graphics" on a system that has one if it's main features be "customizable graphics".
Games on PC that have lackluster graphics options get torn apart for doing so.
Also "enjoy how things looks". I do not enjoy what the new maps look like on ultra high graphics settings. I do however enjoy them on the lower end of the settings since they aren't so hard on my rig. Who do you think you are to tell me what I do or do not enjoy?

Not at all. One can reduce graphics without removing all particle effects and such.
But I'm sure most competitive players are running this game on potatoes, so are reducing graphics out of necessity, amirite

People strip down graphics so the game looks like garbage anyway. Gap widens between min maxers. Glad I'm not a PC game designer these days.
