Then why stay? It can't be good for your health and general well-being if the game is causing you even a little bit of stress (and not liking something you're playing does cause stress).

we all know how to hit the uninstall button... thanks...but if thats all you got maybe you should take your own implication.. im here like most trying to keep an optimistic view of a game we love. Im just having a rough go at it lately and wanted to know how the public felt.

They don't care, the majority of casual players passing through are financing the game a minority wants.

We are disposable the moment we don't want what they do.

Same here. I still have hopes that one day this game will turn into something more than just team deathmatch.

Been playing for 3 years, no other game has come close to that time frame for me.

Had a blast in CW phase 1 and am awaiting phase 3 before getting back into that area of MWO.

I enjoy pugging it and found my niche that helps my team win more often then lose. I run a ECM/PPC Spider with which I long range scout and watch for flankers. I can almost guide my pug team just by making doritos appear 800m to 1000m out. Staying by the slowboats, covering em with ECM, and warning them of inbound flankers seems to give my teammates an edge of the opposing team.

Getting better at my role, as well as the game in general, is why I play nearly every week night, Just like people who golf on the same course every week or soccer players who are seen on the local field every weekend. It is not the variety of what we do, but the personal improvement at an activity that we enjoy doing that keeps us coming back.

Im happy with where the game is. If I wasn't I would stop supporting it.

A minority of players here in the forums are whats destroying this game, thanks for asking them to do it more.

Yes. The game is fun, but it isn't perfect. CW needs more than ironing out, however... at this point, I don't know what can fix it.

Sure I'm happy about it. I still have fun and play it a couple of hours a night. It's just things are stagnant with little new playable content. However, before people complain on these forums they should realize that stagnation is part of ANY MMO. Once you hit that level cap, ran all the dungeons, got the best gear, one struggles with what to do next. At least MMO has good replay value even if there isn't much to work for.

Actually no its the game, or people wouldn't be pointing fingers at others.
If the game was really good and had a proper population, no one would care about casuals and try hards

No offense Cathy but I find that this to be a truly disingenuous statement...

"People" form the meta... "People" drive the metrics... "People" make or break a game. The game simply provides the mechanics, good or bad...

The reality is PGI could build a beautiful Opus to Mechwarrior and "people" will leverage every advantage to their benefit and find subtle and not so subtle ways to ruin it.

Not saying PGI could not do better... Just saying human nature being what it is, we tend to ruin good things.

No, not really.
CW gameplay, even on a win, is boring as all hell. All it is is Poke Through Chokepoint Sim 2015. The maps and invasion need to be completely revamped.

Even then, there's a long ways to go.

Im very happy with the mech designs and the maps game play is fun but gets a little boring after 10-20 matches because of bad map rotation and lack of different game modes types. Game play could be better I feel the mechs are to weak not enough armor still and die to quickly under even moderate weapons fire.

Sadly I like CW but the matches take forever and I cannot even get 1 factions achievements done. What I would do if it was me is make CW pug vs pug 12v12 to fill up the games fast and give double the C-bill rewards and only drop 2 mechs in this game mode style.

Then let 12 man teams play 12 man teams with the CW setup as it is now with 4 mechs to drop balance game play out more. But pugs or 12 man teams could play either game mode if they chose to.

I miss the varied game play of MechWarrior4 and the MSN gamming Zone for Social ability's and the Varied leauges that provided variety to the MechWarrior IP.

The game is playable and still has enjoyment to it.

However, I find the game grates on me faster every day. The abundance of laser spam is just frustrating. That being said, I understand that a TON of the Resistance 2 mechs were laser spam mechs [3/4th's of them were at least], but it doesn't exactly help the game feel fresh.

That being said I still find myself coming back day after day, because the core gameplay experience is worth it.

I am optimistic that the changes they are planning are going in the right direction. I currently am enjoying the game, after all I am still playing it. However after buying the phoenix and resistance packages as well as clan wave 1/2/3 and the Urbie hero pack and several hero mechs I have put my spending on hold till some needed changes are made.

So no I am not 100% happy with the state of the game I would say I am about 60% happy with the state of the game. However if the changes do what I hope them to and they finally put in PvE Ill probally be in the 80 to 90% range which will get me spending money again. That to me is about as good as it gets as there will likely be certain things they simply will never change that I want changed. You cannot please everyone in a game, nor can you truly make anyone 100% happy.

I'm having a great time with MWO actually.

I think one of they key things to do is to join a unit with people you like to hang out with, and work together with them to take full advantage of the game and make it fun.

I can totally see how 100% solo pugging gets old pretty fast, if it wasn't for the group matches, FRR hub CW groups (this one's the big deal for me), private training and fun custom games and so on I would probably find the game rather boring/limited.

I disagree. CW is supposed to be the main point of MWO's existence. As such, everyone should be contributing to the war effort. But, a little ( ;)) creativity in designing "missions" and objectives is what is required to soften the impact on solo and new players. All we have right now is attack/defend and counterattack. Wars do not have such battles only.

When I came to this game I had nothing.

Now I have all of these amazing friends, and these wonderful battlemechs.

Relax, buy some mechs, meet some people... and enjoy the scenery.

Quench your battle lust on the fields of glory.

I enjoy the game quite a bit. It can be frustrating just like most games.

I think a lot of people have these unrealistic expectations and that causes a bit of grief for them.

I used to play 6-8 hours a day for over 2 years. Now I play about 10 matches a week. It's still my top FPS- all the other ones I have tried have just been too twitchy for me. But I don't feel the need to keep grinding for new mechs, and that is pretty much what this game is about.

I do enjoy the community and forum though. :P

Im not trying to put down the game or complain about fog and lasers (insert flashback) but I would sincerely like to know if and who is actually having a good time with it. I personally have horrible matches and by the look of the forums so does everyone else. There has to be some players on the other side right? Who are they? and what are they doing that the rest of us aren't? I used to have fun and was a decent pilot but after a half year break with no time to play I come back and I suck. Im not trying to blame a broken game for my lack of skill but this last month of playing again has almost broken my love for the game. So how about it? who has the positive feedback or stories of glory?

I think I may have played my last game today. Between instagibs on larger mechs and semi-invulnerable lights, inability to see and being forced to use night or heat vision in broad daylight on the "new improved maps", the overall state of the game resembles misery closer than fun. Today I encountered an AFK (AFK!!!!) wolfhound. I shot him over a dozen times in the CT while both of us were stationary and his armor turned orange. This with 1 LL and 2 MPL. Horse ****. Also, I have been headshot FOUR TIMES since last night while moving in my raven. FOUR TIMES in less than 24 hours. More Horse ****.

No other game gives me as large a sense of missed opportunity as MechWarrior: Online.
