No, I own Victors on my main account. The build I run is really strange but I've found it to be really effective. It's got a maximum XL engine, since I found that mobility is extremely important to a Victor's survival. It has 2 SRM2s, 2 Medium Lasers, and 3 AC/2s. Sounds ridiculous, I know. This arose out of me trying to make a DPS Victor that featured dual AC/5s back in the day when the Dragon 1N was wreaking havoc because of its AC/5 quirks. Then I realized that due to rate of fire, 3 AC/2s actually out-DPS 2 AC/5s. I was pretty desperate at this point to find a Victor that worked so I gave it a shot even though I thought it was gonna be pretty bad. Turns out it's actually quite solid. It doesn't take long to strip the armor off even a Kodiak with sustained fire and once I have done that, AC/2s have a high critical chance that was given to them to make them less useless so whoever I've got my eye on can kiss their internals goodbye in quick order. I've had it happen before where the armor on an enemy's CT comes off and the very next shot of 6 damage instantly destroys their internals. Still though, it is definitely the most pitiful assault I have in my hangar and I don't fancy being stuck in one for a challenge like this.
It doesn't sound
that ridiculous. I enjoy boating AC2s on occasion, for exactly the reasons you listed.
Please pardon me while I geek out for a minute:
My silly build for the 9B is the UAC5+AC5+AC2 dakka troll. I like to run it with a Standard so I can confuse people by soaking shots with the LT, while dumping bullets downrange for cockpit shake and death by a thousand arhythmic plinks.
On the 9S I run a stock standard engine, AC20, 2SRM6, 1SRM4. As long as I brawl with buddies, and don't try to go 1v3, it hold its own and contributes ably.
9K ... requires that XL, and I find the Gauss and ERLL's seems to do okay. I'm considering tinkering with new builds though.
Anyhow, thanks again for stopping by, and happy mechin' to you.
