NP go out and freelance for a bit. As far as i know we will still be here. Looking forward to a 12 Victor wave in FW. need your gun manPosted Image
as for the coffers, right now we are at 6700,000 cbills or enough for 3 more recruits. thank you for your generous donation

Bishop Steiner

I an't about to boot you over a measly 50k cbills Posted Image when you or the game are ready your spot will be here waiting.

as far as booting inactive members, I don't know right now. it seems that there are only a handful still actually doing the challenge. as i have no way of knowing who is and who is not active, other then the folks who post here, i don't think at this time, with summer in full swing thru much of the player base and the world championships getting up to full speed, it would be prudent to boot anybody.

and now a word from out Recruitment Dept

(in that pleading kind of voice NPR uses during pledge drives)

As we know the life blood of this unit is members and to get more members it cost about 2 mil Cbills per invite. so if you have a few extra cbills rattling around feel free to donate them to the cause...

leave you with is great video

Have I mentioned that I love this video? Posted Image

Have to admit, I'm one of the inactive. Took a bit of a break and having a hard time getting motivated to return, but I expect I'll take up the pilot's seat again soon. If you do decide to start kicking inactive's, I'm okay with being dropped.

welcome to the unit

New week same old contract. it seems the Capellan Confederation is still in need of hired guns. House Liao is still paying the 20% bonus and we need the money. so go out there and shoot a few mechs for the Chancellor, crazy as she might be...

while there has been some talk of trimming the rolls of mech warriors attached to the unit. at this time there are no plans to remove anyone from the unit, active or inactive. right now we are not having a problem paying the recruitment fees. at the moment we have enough funds to pay 3 recruitment fees. with the slow season upon us those 3 will probable last till late 3rd quarter.

Good Luck, Have Fun, or Die Trying....

I would like to join in the challenge, but first, a question. If we get a mech that has a IIC version (Jenner, Hunchback, Orion, Highlander), are we permitted to use the IIC version if we want? Or are we only allowed to use the IS version?

So the way the thing works, is you use the IS version for the initial stage of the challenge.

There are 2 bonus stages though, after you've mastered 3 variants of your initial challenge mech.

First one is to take the quiz again, perhaps varying your responses a bit where you were on the fence or the answers were "close." Use that IS mech for your Bonus 1 mech. Master 3 variants, just like the opening stage.

Now the part you've been waiting for: Bonus 2 is to use a ClanTech chassis in the same weight class as your initial challenge mech (no quiz required). Which could just as well be the IIC edition of your signature challenge mech.

So no, but yes ;)

I kinda wish there were a Panther IIC. I think it'd be wicked awesome.

Edit: Come on in, the mechin's great!

Let us know what your challenge alt account's name is, and one of our coordinators will get you an invite :)

I'd actually prefer that to the VTR these days (though maybe not by a huge margin, lol)

At least the grind was cheaper and faster.

I got the Panther for my first result. Love 'em.

Got the Victor second. Not only is it rougher performance-wise, but the assault-level grind is an intrisically bigger mountain to climb.

Kon's mentioned it elsewhere, but the Panthers are one of the most uber-quirked mechs in the game. There's plenty that offsets it, keeping it from being OP. Still, once you've got the feel of it it's a steady and at times above average performer.

Victors, by contrast, don't get as much help relative to their peers, and it shows. All of my challenge builds for the Victor so far are rangy and rely on damage delivered steadliy over time. I hesitate to call them dps builds, as the dps calcs aren't really great.

If I get chewed up early, and lose a gun arm (in either chassis, really), it makes for an underwhelming match. It's compounded in Invasion matches, especially if all 4 waves consist of "push hard into the buildings." >.<

When I finally grind up my VTR-9S, at least it'll help with brawly situations.

So Kon, care to join our plethora of Panther pilots? ;)

Oh, I enjoy my PNTs. They ain't meta.... or Urbies, but are probably my second favorite Lights in the game. Play em like mini-Mediums. Always enjoyed em in TT, too, though mine usually dropped the SRMs for a pair of MLs in the left arm.
