It might be worth contacting PGI directly - there's forum history in this thread to associate you, and they might be able to do something like "send to the email address associated with [character name]'s account". As long as you didn't lose access to any email addresses you've used you could then recover it.
Well, the issue is I know my password, and user name...but I don't remember the email it was associated with. It was saved on the two hard drives of my desktop, and my laptop, and in the browser memories for both... but both died in the last month and the desktop is currently in a different country, even.
I have not had the ability to choose contracts since I gave up leadership of the unit, but Caesar Octavius or Ih8tevictors should be able to. Also, the Challenge may have to be ended early, since the new skill tree system will change everything. Although, "mastering" three variants of mechs in the new system will an even longer grind than in the old system.

I still like this account, so whether we wrap up the official bit or not, I think I'm still going to roll it out from time to time.
I'm still planning to play it when Battletech arrives.
I mean, that was intrinsic to the initial challenge, after all.
If we need another coordinator, I'm happy to help.
Since you guys have been so loyal to this challenge, I will try to think up a final...final recurring challenge that works with the new system. I will put something up after the patch goes live and I see how things work. Also, the BattleTech backer beta is supposed to start June 1, so I will be playing allot of that.

If I can recover the Anders acct, I'll likely keep running it intermittently myself. I wouldn't mind seeing something like the WMC convert to a Stock Mech league or something to keep it going, TBH. Though I may have to switch out of my Rifleman, lol.
But one thing I like about this acct? Since it is my tertiary... I don't have many mechs or much money... which makes it "feel" a bit more immersive. The "a mechwarrior only has one robot" effect.... and so having to cope with just my RFL-3N, for instance? Has been a very satisfying, and often frustrating, challenge.

Ah, rest assured, it will be grindy like you masochists like, but the hard part is tailoring the new challenge to include both the existing Challengers (and their accounts) as well as any potential new Challengers.
As I have given this more thought, the new challenge will be an entirely separate challenge, but the new Challengers will be integrated into the WMC unit in order to keep it relevant.

I am going to take some time to get used to the new skill tree (and see what gets hot fixed) before I get to work on the new challenge but expect a statement in the OP soon.

I'm looking forward to this acct (now that it's been recovered) because... well, I only really have to worry about 1 mech now.
Curious how I can skill up my rifleman to help overcome some of it's weaknesses.
The final WMC update has been posted, thank all of you for making this challenge what it was and making it last as long as it has. There is more to come...

OK, will have to re-buy the Victor, but that's OK.

Now that Ed's blown the final whistle, I'm going to post my stats. I started late, on 7 April 2016, but I had a bunch of fun.
There were stretches where this was my primary account for all intents and purposes, because I was having so much fun with it and chose to play it so frequently. I geeked out hard, no denying it.
I think the major thing with this challenge, a lot like figuring out how to build a mech, is working within the limitations. For me, it's making the most (defined broadly) of what you've got access to. Thanks Ed
I'll spoiler blocks of images below for Mastery, Stats, and Stock challenge.
First mastery, that now-relic of the not-so-distant past:
Spoiler
My Original Challenge Mech, the Panther. Challenge Prime, if you will:
Next were Victors, the second chassis and my Bonus Challenge #1 mech. Also pictured are my Shadow Cats, my sixth chassis, from Bonus Challenge #5
The Jenner IIC was my third chassis, which I took for Bonus #2. Without realizing it, I initiated a pattern of long-hulled chicken walkers for my ClanTech, as opposed to humanoids on the IS side.
Also pictured, my fifth chassis the Grasshopper, which I took for Bonus #4. Another note: I took the quiz again a few times in the same spirit as the Bonus #1 retake. Grasshopper came up nearly as often as the Panther and Victor. When Grasshopper came up as an option, it actually meant a lot to be able to select it.
My fourth chassis was the Dragon, which I selected so I could complete the Bonus #3 challenge in a bone-stock-as-purchased Dragon 1N. I ran it in basic green on channels 1 and 2, with amaranth piping in channel 3. I thought it was a nice touch
Also pictured is my seventh chassis, the Enforcer, also taken for Bonus #4 to ensure an operable dropdeck at any tonnage limit in Faction Play. That 4P may turn out sweet with a UAC20. We'll see
And my 100-match screenie for the aforementioned Stock 3025 Challenge in the DRG-1N. I had a nasty run of 12 bad losses that sunk my chance to break even. C'est la vie. Worth it.
Last, the king of the Battletech Universe, the Mad Cat (okay fine, the Timberwolf), my eighth and final chassis completed during the official run of the Battletech What MECH Challenge:
My last chassis would have been the Dire, to add a long-hulled, chicken-walker, ClanTech assault, as a long-term project. Skill Tree put the kibosh on that, though if there's no particular objection I may do that anyway. Same terms (3 variants), full skill nodes (en lieu of "mastery"), much rougher grind. Something to consider, anyway.
Final mech count at official cessation of the challenge:
- 5 Panthers, including two 9Rs, one for sniping, one for scouting (yes, it works, as a leg/ST farmer)
- 17 total I.S. mechs
- 9 ClanTech mechs
Final stats for those mechs:

For kicks, I took screenies of my Dragon 1N's progress at least every five matches during my 3025 Stock Challenge. There are a couple extras for certain milestones, like KDR, elites, mastery, elimination losses, etc.
I had one match not register as a win or loss, so I took a screenie after match 100, then ran number 101 to have an even 100 matches reflected in the W/L columns.
It's also kind of amusing that I never cropped these, so I can see what other tabs I had open looking at netflix, anime, webcomics, and of course BT/MW stuff. https://static.mwomercs.com/forums//public/style_emoticons/default/wink.png

Good times. No clue what the Skill Tree and Civil War eras have in store for my stable of 26 challenge mechs. Assuming I don't wander off or get hit by a passing dropship, we'll find out. https://static.mwomercs.com/forums//public/style_emoticons/default/wink.png
Before I run my first match of the new era, a screenie with my first challenge mech, the PNT-8Z, and showing my Tier 2 progression. This 2xLPL PNT-8Z is also the first mech in which I ever got an "Ace of Spades," on any account. The only other? My dual cLPL Shadowcat, also on this account. Oddly enough, both Aces were on Canyon Nework

Wow, impressive stats Amaranth! People should check out what you were able to do without spending any money and mostly without even picking most of your mechs yourself!
Now, today was a very trying day for me and all I want to do now is drink some beer and blow up Mechs, so I won't have anything for the new challenge tonight. Tomorrow, though I plan to have the first tier up, so anyone crazy enough to join the new challenge can get started.

Oops, I forgot the actual stats pages
Editing that in now ...
Added now. I knew it felt like I was forgetting something. I forgot to do it after pasting in all those screenshots for the stock mech.

The Aesir have deemed that the next challenge should be "The 9 Noble Challenges" and not the "Always and forever Challenge". You will be challenged (if you accept) and you will be deemed worthy or not by the Aesir.

I don't suppose you'd be willing to drop linkange in the OP here (when you've got it) to direct traffic so folks who arrive here can still find their way to related fun with the unit?
