think those complaining about the 250 points being too hard are a little precious. just had a look at my run of game last night.
Using a broad selection of mechs from the assault heavy and medium class played 6 assault games, scored 250+ in five of them. 1 conquest game - only got 192, but that was cause I had a game crash while my EXE was sitting inside one of the zones and by the time I reconnected my team had moved on and I had three enemy heavies closing in.
16 skirmish games, scored 250 in 7 of those.
Mechs that got a run in these games incude:
2 zeus variants (inc loyalty), SRMs and LPL on both
3 mauler variants, 1x 4UAC5, 1x 2 LPL/ 2 AC10, 1 x 4LRM5/2 Gauss/2spl
1 crab (not king) variant (highest score of the night), 3LPL
1 nova variant(loyalty), 6xSPL, 4ERML
2 black knight variants, 1x8mpl, 1x 2LL,5ml
and the executioner (loyalty). 6spl, 6erml
none of these mechs were elited or hugely meta.
HOWEVER, think the reduction is score requirements is a good thing as it allows me to get back in my commandos and mist lynxs!

Other than the typical event trolls... Not too bad. Wish the match score requirement was a little lower, but 250 is much more doable than 300+ from an event not too far in the past...

1% per. game, supposedly. something like 70% if you do all 150 possible matches.
If it makes you feel any better I've run through so many games now my chances of getting one are single digit. Shame I never got premium time, that would have been worth. . . something.

And still no timby.. ..boohoo

That is tough. It is cases like this that make me hope PGI increases the number of people you can report. Luckily I have not had that experience very often. Usually if someone is not participating it is a connection issue or they got called away from their computer. But I would loose my mind if it was happening with the same people or just match after match. It makes it hard to compete. I am also not sure why people would do that in this game, it is not like you can successfully farm CBills or level a chassis that way.
As for the match score, it has been dropped to 150, which is very doable. When it was 300 it was tough, 250 is better and is usually around where I would score except in bad losses. I am glad they made it easier, it rewards the average to below average players such as myself, which is good. The best players will get the rewards anyway, keeping people like me excited is how PGI makes their money! LOL

Disheartening bug as I plan to play a bit this weekend and a 50% bonus would be nice.

I logged in on the first day and the sun was blotted out by frenzied swarms of LRMs all over the map. Team members were getting in each others line of fire, assaults and heavies were chasing down that 1 lone suicider while opening their rear armor to the enemy team... I just figured it would be another event for me to avoid, but now I hear that there is hope.
Now I hear that people are playing for fun instead of just going with the meta to get their scores. I really hope this holds true as I would like to get some fun MWO time in.
Good on you PGI! I really hope that you continue listening to the majority of your player-base again.
Oh, and to the people complaining about the event requirements going down:
Really? Are you the only ones allowed to have fun? How does it in any way impact you when other people are allowed to gain access to these prizes? Does it take away from your prize pool? Are there any negative repercussions to other people enjoying themselves and having fun vs. having to smash their heads against the wall grinding away to try to break that ceiling?
Other people would like to have fun playing a game. The devs would like to get more people into the game because it helps their bottom line.
I remember this crap from games like WoW where people complained about how it was "getting too easy" because the devs at Blizzard Entertainment reduced the grind-fest and streamlined things to allow more people to enjoy it. Guess what? Game developers and publishers are companies that want to make money by having more people play. They do not exist solely so that a few people can obsessively play something and get really good at it while being jerks to other players.
Thought: How about we have a separate game mode/queue for these super awesome 1337 players so they can grind against each other while the rest of us just enjoy the game? Seriously, if you join the "hardcore"... wait scratch that, let's call it the "MetaMode" gamemode, then you have a chance to win titles and badges and other e-peen enhancements. That way the rest of us can just have fun playing the game while checking out different 'Mechs/builds that aren't necessarily "the meta".
Maybe we can also have a "Mentor Mode" where top players from Tier 1 are thrown into the other tiers and are automatically the Company Commanders? That way they can show new people how to play instead of just saying "L2P noob/surat/freebirth/etc." Of course they would get extra rewards, which would increase based on their team members ranking of them.
Just spit-balling ideas to keep the game "challenging" for those who really want it to be hard, while letting the people who just want to have fun... have fun.
