I voted Yes and other:
First thing is this topic has been discussed some time ago and the devs made it pretty clear that other units than mechs and especially NPC units are far far far far faaaaaaaarrrrrrr down the road of development.
So, yes it would be nice, but first things first. Like community warfare and real role warfare for example. ( You know big maps with more than 8 vs 8 where scout mechs are more than a potentialy harmfull nuisance ) Other than that Maps........looooooots of maps.
And more Mech's.....much more Mech's.
And the Clans......many many Clan Mech's.
And then they can put in funny things like tanks and Aerospacefighters.

I did not vote here but my opinion is that having non-mech options as AI would be fine. Cannon fodder as combat opponents but usable as diversions/harrassment tactics and "flavor" for immersion. I ran (and played) TT battletech games for a couple of years when it first came out (I am old) and the various non-mech vehicles were never much used or a real factor in the games. Especially the aerospace types. Most of the time the players were simply annoyed by their inclusion and few games used them in those I ran or played. Only the tanks were seemingly viable (basically just another mech chassis) and usually used as opponents by the GM. Players amost universally played their mechs.
Now this is just info, not a rant or anything.

Aerospace is really scary in the newer versions of the rules, damn near flying mechs, and if the fighter gets a good run on a mech they can put assaults down in a single pass at times

Would be relatively easy to add NPC vehicles and aeros to the game. Would increase the immersion factor greatly. And would give us a gamemode that is significantly more fun than team deathmatch 1.0 or team deathmatch 2.0

I would love to see vehicles other than battle mechs. I'm sure that I've read the devs say that there are no plans for such, however. Still one can dream.

I'd like to see that, too.
The Cry-Engine should be able to handle footsoldiers, tanks and aircrafts. These are already included in Crysis 2. But I think, the maps should be a lot bigger than they are now.
Maybe footsoldiers, tanks and aircrafts can be separated in a second game, while players of both games can play on the same map. Let's call the second game Battletech Shooter Online, or simply BSO.
BSO can then be developed by another studio (I doubt that pgi has the manpower right now to develop such a huge amount of content). Also BSO might feel like Battlefield 2142 (without respawn ?) to attract new players and make them familiar with the battletech universe.
As long as both games follow the battletech rules (of course it needs balancing), I'm fine with it.
At last, a question comes to my mind: Where to put Elementals? MWO or BSO ?
