I never really liked the load out of the jagermech and I hated the look of the mech as well... They made it look better for sure but I am not sure how autocannons will work out in this game so I guess we shall see.

I have doubt between the Jagermech and the Cataphract.
I presume that the Jag, being a anti aircraft mech, would have a quick and wide torso twist, BUT (and this scares me a lot) the head is in the middle of his torso. I really don't want to being headshot by any average Joe aiming at my torso.

So probably I'll go for the Cataphract.

The thing I don't like about this mech is the Medium lasers mounted on the torso. I'm just not that kind of player when it comes to mech simulations.. If I'm going to have something mounted on the "fixed" torso section, it's going to be missiles or something that doesn't require precision aiming liking AC's and Lasers..

The arms look decent enough but I have to also wonder about the durability of the arms and also the slow speed..

Yes, I know it's an opinion.. but the fact is that those mediums are mounted on the torso and for me that limits the firepower from those weapons.

Understandable those MLs are the only thing keeping you alive at close range I can see why you do not want them limited in any way.

It seems like a promising inner sphere mech, along with the Hunchback. I've always been a fan of clan mechs myself, but something about the Jager does seem very appealing. My primary concern is ammo shortage and how ACs will function in this game.

I am seriously considering picking one up, the potential it has is pretty high up there, quad ultra-5's or paired LL/LB-10x is kinda nice.

This sounds brilliant. Reminiscent of the GLA quad cannon from Generals. I'll have to try that =)

I'm going to get all I can out of my Founders Mechs, but I'll likely still buy several more and the Jagermech offers a LOT of ballistic options.

There are also variants with LRMs in the side torsos...

I'm Fed Suns, and I'm pretty sure it's treason not to have one in your mechbay.

The real question is how many UAC5s it can carry.

It takes some shoe horning, but I have gotten quad-UAC5s and twin medium lasers on one. Granted, it needs an XL engine and endo-steel...and it's only got 6.5 tons of armor...

With quad UAC5s the MLs probably will not be needed so that gives good enough armor protection I think.

It is my opinion that your opinion that opinions are bad is wrong, so there!

Opinions without facts in an argument = bad,
Opinions on whether or not you'll get a Jagermech and why = good.
:D

Yeah, but it can only carry 4-tons of ammunition, and that isn't gonna last long.
On a related note, by merely switching to an XL engine and DHS, one can get quad AC/2s (2t of ammo) and a pair of ERLL, with a whopping 9.5 tons of FF armor onto a JagerMech.

If you can swap the AC5 to ultras and replace the AC2s with LLs it would be an interesting rifleman spoof. Though I think you can only fit 1 extra heatsink in that so good luck with the heat.

Absolutely. I would do that myself just to trick myself into believing I was in a Rifleman that let itself go a bit, too many pints and not enough jogging.

This is one of the reasons I like MWO over MW;LL.. I will be able to swap out those ML's and stick in extra ammo, if I wanted to..

In MW:LL, you can't do that.. there are extra ammo slots available on some of the mechs.. but you can't chop and change like in the MWO Mechlab. MW:LL dev's have said they will be getting to this at some point.. but it's not there yet..

Definitely gonna get a Commando too.. because it's small.. and that's the only reason.. if there ends up being a Flea or Locust I'll buy that too.. I want one of the smallest and I want one of biggest... and since I'll have the Atlas from Founders...

I would consider buying a Jager. I'd love if they brought out a Rifleman Mech as well.
