Why would you drag Reality into this mess ? What's it ever done to you to deserve such a terrible fate ?

cause it's supposed to be a fantasy mil sim, but a sim nonetheless.

if you want to get rid of reality why don't we also have seeking lasers, that look like crazy straws

and instead of equipping engines we can move our mechs with "friendship magic"

the bottom line is just that people who suck at the "bad maps" don't want to play em.

why should a person like me who is constantly trying to figure out how to play em all and run en eclectic build lose the only reward i get for it?

in favor of more boating of only one weapon all in the same range? because you can figure out which maps you will be playing..

this sucks.. it really just an extension of the rest of the crutches the lamest players in the game lean on

cause they can't figure out how to shoot different weapon groups at different ranges.
they all boat medium pulses and press click.
and now no more maps that make you uncomfortable.

jesus christ the scrubs have won

like call of duty noobtube, except in this game they are considered the 'elite'
the absolute most garbage players

Easy there, WhiteKnight, I'm pretty sure the pay-roll is full, and you are not on it... son. And you should really get with the notion that you have the right to express your opinion, but you have no legal or moral right to prevent others from doing the same. Awwwwww, you don't want someone ruining your pretty post? Then keep your opinion to yourself, otherwise be prepared for the scrutiny and opinions of your peers (those to which the posts are open for review), regardless of how vociferous or vitriolic they wish to be. In short: if you can't take the hear, stay the H3!! out of the kitchen.

Now for the game oriented opinion: I have mexed feeling about the Map Selection as it may sound the death knell of certain maps/ map types... But I will hold my opinion until I have made more observations. As far as game mode is concerned, that one is a deal breaker for me. Yes, soldiers in the real world don't get to decide where they want to deply, but they do get mission breifings that allow them to prepare for missions by selecting the appropriate equipment. That doesn't happen here. It would be nice if it did, but... And I have sunk money into this game so I feel Ihave a right to expect a little more from PGI (more importantly if they'd stop screwing up I'd throw my money at them the way a cheap prom date throws her virginity around. But they are not interested in anyone's complaints, only those things which will make them more capital. So when people ask "why won't PGI listen to good ideas?", the answer is simple: <PGI $ing$: WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR ME LATELY... OOOOHHHH, OOOOHHHH, OOOOHHHH, YEAH...> and you can bet the paying customers are getting everything they want. But as for the complainers... well...

So it really doesn't matter how much you complain, or how good your ideas are to fix the game, unless you can impress Ross and the boys (and girls) with some cold hard cash... then go pound sand buddy boy.

this is one of the worst patches ive seen. the voting has GOT TO GO! it failed hard in closed beta, and it will do so again. hell its driving people away in scores. gonna kill the game if they leave it in. i think the ONLY people who like this voting, are the ones who only play skirmish. theres a link there, and its spelled call of duty. need i really say more?

i prefer ANYTHING to skirmish, its boring. i want objectives, i want a reason to vary my mechs. cuz if all ima do is run and gun like im on BF4 or god forbid call of duty i will just break out my sniper atlas and thats even MORE BORING

That's great and you should have that option (back). Those that don't care what mode they played could get that quicker match because they'd drop for anything on any map. Those more discriminating types could wait a bit longer and get the match they wanted. The system was already in place. This patch just ruined what was already there.

Now, instead of sporadic rage over dropping on Caustic, I'm getting a steady stream of rage from dropping on the same ******* map over and over on modes I don't want to play in.

And just so you know I was only kidding, no bad blood with the calling you "son" thing :P

I do fully understand everyone's complaints, I did like the fact that you didn't know what to expect, but I think people are being unfair. I haven't played terra therma once yet, but i have played bog and conquest plenty of times. Maybe you guys get unlucky or im just lucky, but i don't see as big of a problem as all of you.

Maybe there should be a poll for majority opinion on what the community thinks of this as a whole?

unfair? after nothing but skirmish matches since this cursed patch dropped, id say we are being KIND. voting has GOT TO GO. never worked in beta, wont work here. if PGI fails to get that, then they will destroy the game.

I found the keyboard warrior guys. If you think that my post telling everyone to calm down was stopping criticism, you're wrong. I was only saying that this was meant to show gratitude out of the many complaining posts. Please, don't try and act hard over the internet as it makes you look very silly.

personally I can't stand voting and I am a paying customer. I've never had a need or want to post on the forums until this patch.

When the game was random, some got what they wanted others did not. But it changed every round. Now only one group of people get what they want.

There are maps that some people hate and others that people love. Bog is a great example. I love bog when i have a light, other than that can't stand it. Since the patch I have not played any hot map, not even once. Nor have I played bog.

Not only that but, what reason do I have for taking anything but a brawler mech?

Alternatively, you can deny Russ and Co. the cold hard cash and player population they badly need.

Guys, I didn't want this to end up being a place for people to complain. This thread was meant for me to show my appreciation, feedback is welcomed i'm sure but if you have a problem please take it to your own thread and start a discussion there :)

It doesn't matter what you wanted it to be, son. Majority disagree with you. Welcome to democracy you love so much!
Now I hope you get why people are disappointed with that voting system :)

The so called "Majority" is in truth the Minority with more Votes (most of the time ~37% atm but this will change over time) than the other Minorities and does in no way reflect the preferences of the Playerbase but forces their Minority-Preference upon the Majority of the Playerbase until the dissatisfied Players have left and the Minority with the most Votes has become the Majority bcs they are the only ones that be happy enough to stay that long.

By then PGI has lost a shitload of Players, lost Goodwill, is stuck in the Demands-Trap of a very specific Playerbase whose demands prevent MWO from ever recover and getting other Playertypes back.

And then its dead Jim!

What you call "democracy" can also be seen as "Tyranny of the Majority", especially under certain conditions.

How progressive of you.

From my time on these forums I can derive that 80% of you are a bunch of salty crustaceans (don't ask, i'm not the best at insults). Lighten the hell up! Its a god damn game, and for crying out loud stop taking everything so damn literal and serious.
