I am putting this thread here, in hopes that one of the members of PGI just might notice it.

First of all, I would like t say that I would like to see a new map created and placed into the map rotation que for standard games as well as CW, and not a redo of an old map. I know that you guys put a lot of work into reworking some of the old maps, but even with the new features and new look, these maps are still part of the older map selection. As a player of MWO, I would like to see a new map.

Possible Next Map.
A. City ruins
B. An open desert consisting of sand dunes (no place to run, no place to hide).
C. A large system of interlinked cavern.
D. A chain of islands.

Possible CW map.
A. A launching platform featuring a Union Class Dropship.

Thank you, with hopes that you are listening.

I like the idea of a tarmac with unions and other dropships parked with vehicles and piles of crates everywhere and our mechs battle in between. Perfectly flat but with absolutely HUGE unions and even leopards scaling us down. Cover wouldn't be an issue and heck, could even have a control tower/facility dead center....

If it's not cold, super small and easy to navigate with your eyes closed and clear as day no one will play it. Otherwise it's too hard to play.

What if we could move into and out of some of the Unions -or fight inside them?

Next map is the Alpine redux, so don't expect anything else until that's done.

That said, these all seem like pretty solid ideas

I would love to see a Solaris VII style arena with both teams starting in "gladiator pits" at opposite ends.

With mirrored terrain and everybody balled up to begin with you could really discuss a game plan while you're waiting to drop.

You could even have a few variants of the same map with different terrain layouts and have a night map where you play under flood lights. An animated audience that lost their **** when a player dies would be cool as well :P

youre unlikely to see any new maps till way into next year... they still have to redo all the existing maps. all the CW ones still have to get redone too.

maybe destroyed union dropships you can go inside... like the destroyed leopards on frozen city, tourmaline, and boreal vault, but a whole lot bigger.

theyd have to be destroyed though. whos gonna leave perfectly functional dropships lying around? no one.

I still want a real, big urban map. No huge citadels, no vast open areas, no limits on movement. Just endless blocks of buildings, free movement and a hundred different paths to flank, hide, ambush and outmaneuver your enemy. Firing lanes where gauss snipers can headshot enemy mechs from 900 meters down the road. Rows and rows of abandoned vehicles for our mechs to trample.

You could add gental rolling hills on the out skirts of the space port to brake up the sight lines

Just got a new idea
One drop ship sits on top of a two story platform similar to the center of HPG but the ways up are a lot wider
Wide enough for six mechs to go up the ramp at once
(If you have to small of choke point players will avoid that area)

Goal is to take the drop ship

This drop would be an escape mission
(Get as many mechs to the drop ship for extraction)

I would TOTALLY play the crap out of the dense city. But it would be necessary to not make LRMs completely irrelevant (not considering the existing state of the weapon, of course).

So long as someone other than PGI designs the map, or else a 100 ton mech will stop on a dime for kicking over a pebble. Or the Light will swoop in around a corner to core out the back of the above assault mech to only find an invisible wall that is sticking out 20 meters from one of the ruins. This of course if you can actually see through the fog. To do this you will have to engage thermal vision. So no matter how pretty the map is you will only see gray

I feel sorry for the artists and designers.

Forest Colony and Caustic Valley are beautiful and challenging maps.

Missing in action now, noteworthy whenever they get selected.

The New Map is Skirmish HPG. Enjoy....

Keep in mind that the idea above is what they think Mining collective is. I'm not saying that, but I bet PGI thinks it.

Kookie Solaris idea = / = I've had this idea rattling in my brain for quit a while that might actually be fun.

An arena that is a random topology every time you play it. How you ask? Simple... a topology that is a construct like this:
Posted Image

Premise is, the entire arena assumes a random topology prior to the start of the match.... You want more maps and you want "random"... well, here ya go. :P

You have to buy more mech packs for a new map. Then the community will never vote for it. Sorry.

I want a map in a giant metal cube enclosure with cover. And behind each wall I want there to be trap doors that open whenever the terriscareds hide and sends them down to either a pit of spikes or cthulhu who then sucks their bodies through the cockpit window.

Don't forget the crater in the middle we're all supposed to rush into.
